OK Petrie FF Who is CHF? This must be fixed. Darling should be on a flank or third tall. He still has huge potential but should never play at CHF. I believe that this unbalances the whole forward line.

You could play Petrie at CHF and Gov at FF but then Vardy and Gov would have to rotate the ruck. Gov doesnt have the tank to play CHF. McInnes would be good at CHF but hes on the rookie list.

this won't be popular but If Gaff isn't 100% fit come thursdasy week, i'd be inclined to give him an extended rest and Bring Masten. Masto's link up work prior to his dud fortnight was actually decent. he is the only one in the side that can play a similair role to Gaff and might actually play better than he usually does.

Darling is shit. Time to re-asses without him. He doesn't even play like a footballer. He makes bad decisions, plays for frees at the slightest contact, skills are average, doesn't apply any forward pressure anymore, doesn't know how to extend his arms to take a mark, doesn't work hard enough, is average below his knees and is generally a weak prick on the field. Who cares what position he's in so long as it's at East Perth.

When Kennedy is back and Lycett is it an option to play Kennedy at FF, Petrie at CHF, darling the third tall with Lecras and hill small forwards?
This would release gov back to defence.
The only issue is then that Vardy and Lycett word need to rest on the bench or rotate forward with Petrie.

Is this too tall. I don't think so as i see darling as a medium third tall forward like many others.

its to tall. Darling is a third tall and not too many sides go with three tall forwards and a resting ruck. Adelaide have 4 tall forwards but but lynch plays as HFF/wingmen so its not a huge issue. If Darling was good at ground level or could push deeper down the ground, then it would be a different case.

Would rather Partytime.

Let's see them play for them then

Darling played for them in 2015 when coming back from injury.

What Pisses me off is that darling and lecras will never play for EP coz they hate them
Darling has already played a game for East Perth

Edit: This post was an echo

I'd still hve parti time but we need a linkmen that can run all day and provide and outlet.
I think Parti could play that role, he played more outside against WP and we could do with a midfielder that can kick goals, we know they won't play him on ball if he comes into the team so he will be put on a flank somewhere.

No I dont think it's too tall at all. Darling is no good as the second main tall so it frees him up to be that third tall option. He plays better as the third tall option anyway as when he first came in we had Lynch playing chf.

I'd give him Duggans role. As average as Gaff has been recently his work is immense. The games i have seen of him live you can see him busting his gut off running from end to end providing an option out of defence and then nek minute linking up through the middle At this stage only one other person has the tank to do it and thats masten. In the long term sure they could replace masto with parto(hope not cause i actually want Parto to be an inside player) but in the short run Masto is a suitable replacement for Gaff. Parto could potentially fill Hutchings role.

Cant Carry 3 tall forwards and 2 ruckmen. Id drop Petrie move Lycett to FF/ruck and have jk chf/ff and Darling as third tall. Vardy to rest at FF as well.

The point is that darling isn't a tall. He's considered a medium which makes him perfect for the third forward role.
He would be much better in this role I reckon.

at 191cm 95kgs Darlings isn't a midsize player at all. Mid size forward is a hill/lecras/dickson(WBD)/steve j. Darling is on the lower specrum of a key position forward and when he was in form he would trouble bigger opponents than him. Trouble is that Darlings best form is short lived and recently he has just been average. Thats said, you can't play kennedy/petrie/darling and a resting ruck when you have no crumbers because opposition defenders will walk the ball out when the sherrin hits the floor.

I saw something the other week that Darling had caused the most turnovers in the league by direct pressure acts. Something like 24 in 8 games, to that point.

Which surprised me, actually, but probably explains why he hadn't been dropped or even on the cusp of being dropped (until Saturday, that is) - his work off the ball had been valued along with his 2-3 goals.

However when you don't hit the scoreboard, he becomes an easy target for a guy who is paid to kick goals.

Wasn't our forward line Kennedy, Lynch, darling and resting ruck in 2011-12 when we finished 4th-5th?
With Lecras as well.
