Good point, but it's about closing down space/options when we turnover/lose a contest in the f50. It's about making it to contests on the wing and forming possession chains to escape with possession and field position. It's about supporting teammates. It's about not just physical pressure but perceived pressure. And Karpany would definitely provide more of these elements atm.I agree that it might send the wrong message, but this game really is a must win and Karpany isn't exactly a tackling beast.
I guess my point is this could be a change that actually benefits our team and gameplan to the detriment of skill level, albeit skill from a senior player whose output is dropping more and more as the season progresses.
We don't want 10 changes. We want 4/5 tactical changes on all 3 lines to bring some younger, hungrier bodies in. It was Gaff, Darling and Shuey's blooding in 2011 that helped inspire us and our older senior core. Our reserves may not be as talented, but we need the energy.
