doesn't he play in the WAF L - he can show he is a tacking machine each work

Our coaching staff clearly doesn't place a high priority on tackling otherwise we wouldn't be the worst tackling team in the comp.

hai fellas, teammates tomorrow but fighting for the spud shield in a fortnight.... aka The Vardy-Haynes Cup :D

So you're basically confirming that WCE operate based on reputation? Fantastic.
The bloke is cooked, but will continue to get games on reputation alone.
Scott Selwood had 10 tackles amongst 25 possessions and a fantastic job shutting down Rory Sloane on Friday night. Do you consider the failure of being able to get his body right and keep him in blue and gold a **** up given how much you seem to value tackles?
Err...wow! You're awesome :thumbsu:

I hope you've got a good sig lined up for me :(
If it's any consolation I've been reading the post match blood letting on the crows board and here and calls for mass changes on both....
Sounds eerily like us after losing 3 on the spin, many wanted 5-6 dropped even if they played a crucial role (irreplaceable). Dropped one and rebounded so it can turn quickly and our interstate record in recent seasons is haphazard.

Thats half the problem...keeps saying this in his press conferences. Say it enough times and the players will start to believe it. Guess what...they now do.

Totally devoid of any confidence. Never did we ever hear such things come out of Malthouse or Woosh's mouth because it infiltrates their mindset.

His greatest weakness as a coach by far, you very rarely see professional leaders talk the way he does. I swear to god we would of made finals in 2014 if he hadn't of poured epic amounts of cold water on the 3-0 start we had, seriously who the **** answers a question like "you'd be pretty happy with that start to the year Simmo" with "Well we certainly don't expect to win every match.. " Bizarre. Its be all well and good if it was kind of like his style to be frank and open in his opinions and then actually backed them up, but he makes the same kind of comments every week about needing to get more out of senior players or needing to get better at this or we're just not a very good football club, then zero response.

I just don't see anything about the bloke that suggests the supreme level of self confidence needed to do a job like this, never have, probably never will. That doesn't mean he can't coach, or won't be successful, because at any given moment the gravity of the situation could kick in and force him to get more out of himself. Character is revealed when things are against you and the pressure is on. The opportunity is certainly there for a response. There's a bye and half a season of footy left before finals footy. Time to wake up and realise if his side keeps putting on displays like today its a virtual death warrant for his coaching career, its a brutal business Simmo don't die wondering.

Yeah but you've got Dangerwood who love the contest.

Our mids piss their pants the moment any pressure is applied.

Predicting an almighty smacking at the Catters hands.

True.. Are prone to turnstile tackling, lack of effort and laziness when we're expected to win though. Interstate as well likely without Hawkins.
On form we probably should win but I do think it will be closer than many of think it will.

Cats will pump us. Another midfield that is leaps and bounds ahead of us. No JK. Seems that's enough for us to lose these days.

To be fair apart from a couple of rounds at the end of 2016 we haven't played good football sinse 2015. I can speculate that it all has to do with losing the GF but I'm not sure. Also, I was interested in pykes pressed as he was talking about his game plan needing changes. Don't hear that from Simmo. Can only hope a bunch of senior players ask for trades so that we have a hope of restarting. Just a pitty jk and Nic Nat are wasted.

I think Shuey will come out firing. This week off has come at a good time really, nothing seemed able to arrest the form slump so maybe this will. Will benefit those guys under injury clouds (Shuey, Gaff, Wellingham, Lecras and probably more) and will allow the coaches to actually have a think about what's causing the problems.

Going to be a long 2 weeks.

I reckon we'll do the Cats just quietly...

I reckon we're a chance too...

IF Simmo coaches properly. Shut down Dangerwood you beat Geelong. Dont rate them at all beyond those two, they have to play out of their skins for the Cats to win games.

Yeo has to run with Dangerfield (similar how he did with Fyfe), only one on or list even close to capable of doing it.
Hutch/Redden go with Selwood.

No Hawkins (if Bartel doesn't get him off) means Gov can play the whole game forward.

We're going to learn a lot about Simpson over the coming weeks.

Does he have the stones to make the big (and correct) calls on senior players like Priddis, Le Cras and Butler?

If we cruise to the end of the year before making those decisions I'll be very disappointed.

Probably wont change the midfield against an onform Geelong team but Lecras , Cripps and Butler might have some doubts over there selection depending on form of Eagles players in the WAFL derby tomorrow I would think .

I'm sick of our conservatism. Change the midfield regardless of the opposition. Enough free passes.
