Bit of exaggeration going on about Darling here. He is an undersized CHF playing in a team whose midfield is giving rubbish supply. Together with SFA input or pressure from Le Cras, Hill or Cripps makes it pretty hard for him. Whilst I concede he did look despondent on Saturday, calls for him to be dropped or traded are ******* ludicrous.

He isn't a KPF imo. Drop Lecras and play Darling in the Lecras role. He'll provide better defensive pressure and can do everything Lecras can do on the ground.

Play Gov forward.

Only issue with that is Darling is hopeless below his knees.

Not really, how many marks did he drop? Can't blame the midfield for that, the ball literally bounced off his chest on occasions.
He stood up as our key forward when JK was out for an extended period in his second(?) year. He has gone backwards since then.

The club needs to employ the best sports psychologist available for this lot, it's their only hope. I truely believe the teams problems are all in their heads.

I think its their hearts rather than their head. For me, the players look the least interested in playing for their team than any other player for any other team. I feel our players have taken on the stale look that our club has had for years.

Think LeCras is way too focused on fishing than footy. Give him an extended fishing trip.

Darling, well I said my thoughts a few weeks ago. Apart from one game there been no improvement.

Meanwhile I have copped it left, right and center with the Eagles losing the game. I think half the Dockers supporters get more aroused when the Eagles lose than their own team winning. Has to be jealousy.

Hawkins got a one week suspension .

Helps WCE a little maybe but going to need to improve 20% on our current form especially in the midfield and forward line .

I know zero about Geelong's depth so I'm not sure who comes in for Hawkins?

As for Darling being bad below his knees, Lecras used to be the cleanest of all our players below his knees but on the weekend he fumbled everything, felt pressure that wasn't there. Hopefully not a continuing problem.

For such an experienced team on paper our fumbling is the worst going around

Even though neither set the world on fire in the VFL yesterday it will likely be Aaron Black or Rhys Stanley. Potentially we could bring both in and play Taylor down back, though Taylor was very good on Friday night (16 possessions, 8 marks, 2 goals) and it seems we see him as the preferred sidekick for Hawkins.

Normally what happens is a team brings in some unknown kid and we make the a star by letting them kick 3 or 4 goals... :D

I would bring Mutimer back in and get him to follow Joel Selwood around. If only for a learning curve.

Having to try and stop Selwood somehow.
If we're tagging it'd probably have to be Hutchings, Mutimer probably doesn't have the tank. But Hutch had no impact at winning the contest for us at stoppages against GC, would much rather see what Mutimer can do given more opportunity.

Dont think Hutchings should be in the team at all. So thats why Id go with Mutimer.

I have to agree with this sentiment. Sometimes i think that supporters are more enthusiastic and passionate for the team. The club has become stale and I don't get excited to watch West Coast play these days.

It looks like the players don't give a toss. This is the flattest i've seen a group of players for any club. There is no heart or desire to crack in when the going gets tough. There is no energy before, dyring or after a game.

The win/loss record has been good over the last two years. WC were in a Grand Final and have been playing finals. Yet the players don't look enthusiastic. Simpson pores cold water on everything and has no energy. He is also weak and can't make the hard calls on players.

There is no flair on the field and no win at all costs attitude shown by the club. Money and good standing in the community is all that matters. It's sad and quiet boring to watch to be honest. I don't mind if WC lose on occasion, every team loses. However it would be great if the players showed some real passion for the jumper.

Our players get bullied and their team mates do nothing about it apart from Duggan and Nelson sometimes. But don't worry that'll be coached out of them. No no no we can't have players stand up for eachother.

The team is soft physically and mentally with no killer instinct. This just feeds into the stale nature of the club.

I love the club and have watched every game since the age of 7. But this current team is turning me away. It's hard to enjoy watching the team when it looks like the team don't enjoy playing footy.

Now a rant about the league.

The backbone of all the players at WC and across the league has been ripped out. Sensorship at its greatest, thanks AFL. There is no individuality in the league, all the players are robots. It's just so important to be politically correct.

All the players say the same crap every week. All the personality is coached out of the players. They can't even start a little scuffle or throw a jumper punch. It's not a good look if players are fighting all the time but ffs let there be some angst in the game.

Hell, Jeff Garlett was called out by the media for pointing at the goals after he kicked one when an opposing player was in his face.

Adam Treloar caused a stir when he said that the Collingwood list was better than the Tigers, how dare a player say that.

SPP was called out when he gave Neale a pat on the bum after a fend off, how dare he do such a thing.

Sam Mitchell with the jab gesture against the Bombers, no Mitch you can't do that.

Tex Walker and his little twitter banter with Nick Kyrgios was unacceptable.

I like that Toby Greene is a confident flog.

If players want to be flogs, well let them be flogs.

Ok after watching the WAFL today I would like to see this

In: Barrass, Venables, Partington, Cole
Out: Schofield, Lecras, Duggan, Butler

Hurn - Emac - Nelson
Yeo - Barrass - Sheppard
Jetta - Mitchell - Gaff
Venables - Petrie - Darling
Cripps - Gov - Hill

Vardy - Shuey - Sheed

Cole - Hutchings - Partington - Priddis

Hutchings to stay in as a tagger. Venables I think will be able to impact the HF while giving a mid rotation. Partington has had good numbers all year and should be given a go over Duggan. Barrass in to provide that intercept marker while Emac can be lock down. Cole purely to let him develop as a defender.

Masten and Redden were reasonable but for the sake of development I think they should stay in the WAFL for a couple of weeks. Priddis I would like to see out also but I dont think they will do it yet.

In: Barrass Partington Cole Lamb
Out: Schofield Hutchings Butler Mackenzie
Lamb inaccurate today, but we need another forward target out there, and I'd prefer to keep Gov in defence for most of the game. Fmac another option, but I'd like Lamb to have a shot since we've already seen plenty of Fmac already at AFL level. Mutimer and Karps may not have impressed Simmo enough overall to take Duggan's spot. Redden or Masto more likely based on today's game. :(

Adam Simpson and the MC have some tough decisions to make , should be a couple of changes .

Cole replace Butler
Partington replaces Duggan / Hutchings
Venables a chance to replace Hill
Lycett replaces Vardy ( rest )
Barrass also a good chance for I'm not sure who !

Really there are so many options , you could keep Vardy in as a forward .

We aren't in as bad a situation as everyone thinks .
Geelong are a tough and well coached team though , think the MC will only make a few changes .

Wish I had a time capsule so I could go forward 5 years and see if Masten and priddis were still being played.
I'd say so if Simpson is the coach sadly.

Venables had a good first half and ten minutes of the third, but faded after that. He needs more WAFL games before he's ready I think. Coke has dash and aggression but he needs to string more good games together before he is considered.

SPP was exactly the same. Played in bursts in the WAFL. I think Venables is the sort of guy that will be ok at AFL level. He scores goals every week and every touch he has is class. Its not like any player has dominated off the HF so far.
