Caronovirus Season now all over.
So now playing for next year.
Play all the borderline players
See who can and who can't take us further.
And gap fillers like Lloyd taking us nowhere
Play Greene Cavarra.
Give English a rest and a specialized program for next year.
See what Sweet has to offer.
Bruce or Schache l dont know what to do..
Just glad we can recruit Jamarra to partner
Naughton.
Weightmon ,Richards and Dale persevere.
Wood great service
Suckling good gap filler at times
As someone said on Jong
If he was playing we are average Aka October 2016 did not play..Good luck punting.
Not all gap fillers are so.Crozier ,Keath the great exceptions.
JJ needs a kick up the backside but persevere.
All for 2021 now

Big break until the next game no reason to rush the changes through only to be ignored yet again, should be able to get a solid
session in during the week and have the players primed for a rampant Adelaide side taking all before them.

I need to watch the press conference but I see Beveridge is quoted as saying that "Gardy" wasn't on Hipwood all night and it was a team " But Beveridge insists Ryan Gardner wasn’t Hipwood’s direct opponent all game" Fairly sure that all of the goals he kicked in the 2nd and 3rd were on Gardner. He was lucky not to give up another free or two in the 2nd quarter also. I wouldn't expect the love affair to be stopped any time soon.

Out: Gardner
In: Dale Morris

Out: Gardner, Bruce, one of Lloyd or Dale (don't care which one)
In: Sweet, Dickson, Lewis Young
English to play mostly forward and 2nd ruck
If not Sweet, then Trengove must play. Fed up with English's softness at centre bounces and inability to impact the game.

when Bevo said that I had to stop watching

It’s a forum for gutless weak ‘supporters’ that think their opinion is warranted...we can talk about being disappointed and be upset, but half the sh*t that gets dribbled out makes a majority of the posters look like a pack of donkeys...hence why anyone that matters at the club wouldn’t bother. Like I said...head downtowhittenoval and tell them face to face...see what happems
Pretty sure most people here are passionate enough about our club that they would go and express their opinion face-to-face, if given the opportunity. We invest our time, our money and a large portion of our lives to support this great club we love, which means we have the right to ask questions when things aren't going so great. Would be over the moon to speak to Bevo or any of the coaches and ask them some questions to see what the **** is going on half the time.

Not sure what game Beveridge was watching, all 5 goals in this footage shows Gardner was on him every time, also gave away another couple of frees where he missed goals. I understand that he probably wants to protect Gardner but then he looks sillier with his response. https://www.lions.com.au/video/7920...dal=true&type=video&publishFrom=1596890395001

Anyway as I said I'd be pleasantly surprised if he didn't play next week.

Really? Would be interesting to see some of the stuff repeated face to face...........

Hard to unpack the game and decide who to change because where we lost the game was where we have the best players and unlikely to drop any of Bont, Macrae, Libba, Dunks, Smith in the guts. We have to back them in to bounce back.

Only change I would make is McLean to tag anyone to gets away - I thought they should have done this on Lachy Neale who was outstanding. Move Smith to wing and West to forward - Rest Red. His confidence is shot and he needs a reset. Both he and Red will need to come in and out as they develop and that is OK. Both will be stars (I think West will be better).

If Hunter comes in - he goes straight on of course- we are so much better with him in. Out maybe Lipinski - I am a big fan but he needs more strength in his legs - runs to tall and falls over too easily or pushed off the ball. Brisbane’s Simon Black, Acker and co worked really hard on this - he will come through with most other things really good. Butler and LaYoung could come in but I don’t think they would be better than him - despite the feet - he has great hands.

Forward line will be better each game: Wallis. Bruce. Naughton. Dale and Lloyd are our best permanent dive with a resting mid or ruck.

I don’t completely understand the Gards move - effectively we moved our best defender off their best forward and meant he (Keath) has little impact and Cordy was also down.

I expect Bevo expected a team defence would have them able to Drop in a give Gards a hand - they didn’t and that will not please Bevo - but it didn’t work. We only have Trenners and Gards as lock down talls - and I guess the MC thought Trenners was too slow. Might be a fair thought but also gives a ruck chop out. We got caught out a bit by talls against PA but feels like we overreacted.

Adelaide will play Tex, Himmelberg and Fogarty - playing Keath, Cordy and Wood should be fine.

Would drop Gards for Sweet or Trengrove as ruck back up. Would be OK playing both but with 8 days - English doesn’t need a rest. I just think playing two rucks makes sense. Many teams are doing this but the other player must make a contribution outside ruck.

On a side note...

I reckon the melts on this forum are being amplified by the plight of Victorian’s being locked up and isolated. It really has ramped up.

Thanks for the entertainment!
Mate it saves a bucket load of $$$. on psychiatrists, psychologists, yoga and meditation lessons. you write a melt on this board after we lose is a huge release and a praise on Bevo for being the best coach ever after a win is not uncommon from the majority of us.

If I met Bevo right now face to face, I would 100% ask him why are you selecting Ryan Gardner, what about Lewis Young, Rhylee West and a few others, what is your selection policy (if there is one) etc etc. And I would like some genuine bloody answers rather than fluffy responses which he gives to the media.

Yeah I'm talking about stuff like *** is a f***** spud, Bev should be sacked etc etc etc

I hope you don't mind the intrusion. As an outside observer I remember you guys were dominating towards the end of last year, and for me, one of the main reasons was the form of Bont, Macrae and Dunkley in the middle.

I was watching the game the other night and I know you guys have strong depth with Libba, Smith, Lipinski and possibly McLean, but I don't think I really saw the big 3 at the centre bounce together much if at all. It seemed Macrae was the permanent mid and Bont and Dunk spent the majority of time forward more than pure mid like last year. I know Bont can be a dominant Fwd, but Id love love to see your three star, 6 ft 3, big bodied mids go bananas together.

Am I on the money here or are things as per normal? I know Dunks is potentially still not 100% fit and might be being eased back in a touch, Libba is now fit, and Smith is a dynamo that needs game time in the mids but I still think you have 3 of the best mids in the game and not potentially using them to your advantage.

As an opposition supporter Id much prefer to come up against Macrae, Libba and Smith than Macrae, Bont and Dunkley.

Best of luck against the Crows!

I see no point in playing Bruce at this stage.

He just can’t compete at this level consistently in the condition he’s in.

Try someone else at full forward. I guess lew young is the only option. Unless we play sweet and give Timmy a run up there.

The amount of leads Bruce presents on where his arms are flailing around like he’s lost at sea is weird.

I’m not sure whether this is his style previous to this year or whether he’s trying to highlight the fact the defender is holding on and he can’t get the same level of separation as he’s used to due to a lack of fitness but god is it frustrating.

Deffinetly not the same guy that was 5th for contested marks last year
