Mitchell has to improve his kicking speed. Way too much hang time which leads to unnecessary turnovers. He should practice this hour after hour until he gets this right

kane cornes is about to play 300 games with kicks with more hang time than most plane flights

lol no i do agree re Mitchells kicking but i think he has cleaned his disposal up a bit already, and if he keeps working on it i hope some of his knockers notice

How is the Imp looking for this weekend? Not worried though because the Krak will kill him.

Yeah, at this stage of their careers Krak is a smarter, better reader of the game than Impey and an ideal match up for Betts. I suggest we milk every single game out of him we can while he's on the senior list.

Sorry just read that bit about killing him. I meant the Krak will kill Betts anyway.

Had 6 tackles for a start. I don't understand the Mitchell knockers. We have at least 4 mids/flanking backs who can kick a ball 60 metres. The fact that he can only kick 40 and therefore sometimes coughs the ball up doesn't negate the fact that he is one of the fittest/ fastest in the team and adds something that others can't. If there is someone better, sure drop him, but that seems misguided with guys like impey (speed) and Wines (hard bodied mid) out.

Because he keeps giving the ball straight back to the opposition or ****ing up our forward pushes by putting the ball above the next guy in lines head. His hand balling this year and his work in tight I think has been much improved but it's just his kicking and tackling, if he can get that consistently better he'll escape criticism. It's more he doesn't **** up all game now like he used to but he has patches where it goes to shit, what we do know is that he works his ass off to fix things so if you were to look at his game today from what it was when he hit the club it would be night and day.

Crows will struggle with our forward line. Posted on their board as well.
I had -

Schulz - Talia (Talia normally does well here, if Schulz kicks 2 or 3 Id be happy)
Ryder - Hartigan, this makes me smile
Hoff - Cheney again I'm smiling

One of their astute posters posed:
Schulz - Cheney
Ryder - Talia
Hoff - Hartigan
Thoughts?
Isolating some of these match-ups could be a key to us winning. Really looking forward to this game.

Hartigan is an automatic 5 goal head start for us no matter who he plays on, he's barely SANFL standard. Cheney is a good medium defender but he'd be giving up about 15cm to Westhoff or Ryder. Talia is a cheat quality defender but we should be able to exploit the other two matchups. Whoever gets Talia should be running him up around CHF and the wings to allow us to isolate Hartigan or Cheney's match-up deep inside 50.

Yeah Mitchell has improved this year, but if Gray is back AND the club is willing to keep pushing Chad, White and Polec for another week (before giving them rests as we hit our easier run) it's either him or Ah Chee out. Given how completely we tapered off after half time and especially late against the Hawks with two of our three best inside mid's out, I'd be more inclined to keep Ah Chee in to come into the centre then be down those who can get clearances late again.

You'd assume Talia would go to Schulz. Schulz has no problem roaming up the field, so he can play the decoy role. If Talia goes to Schulz I'd almost be tempted to have him try to drag Talia into their forward 50 in front of Walker. He's not a forward so he's just going to clog space.

Lol at anyone who thinks that our second half against Hawthorn in terms of conditioning was anything more than just us being exhausted after having to go to Subiaco to play Fremantle in Round 1, back it up 6 days later against another powerhouse in Sydney at home, travel to Melbourne to play a frenetic North, then come back to play the reigning premiers.

Every single side in the conpetition would struggle with that sort of opening to the season. Our fitness is elite and we'll **** up the Crows.

Well this plus having a number of slightly underdone (eg. Lobbe, Monfries, Ryder, Hartlett, Wingard) or injured players (eg. White, Boak, Polec, Wingard)

At the pace the game is played it only takes a few players under their best to make the rest of the team look slow / tired. The fitness is there though and will begin to shine through in coming weeks I expect.

Traditionally they haven't had a player who can go with Westhoff. Well the inclusion of Ryder opens up potential mismatches that could make their troubles with Hoff look like a picnic by comparison.

Some promising signs from Hoff on saturday. If he can get back somewhere near his best for this weekend it will go a long way toward us getting the win.

What I want:

In: Gray, Stewart
Out: Ah Chee Mitchell

Young's contested work is so good, I'd like to see Robbie spend more time up forward. He's worth 3 or 4 goals a game up there, and I don't want a repeat of the first couple of rounds where we'd get it into the forward 50 and not score.

So much this. Young stepping up has added so much potency

Krak may stay with him for most of the game but I'd be worried about the last quarter and the Eddy Betts junk time show. One of the players last week said Krak had cramp in his eye lids in the last quarter. If Impey is good to go, sub him maybe. Betts is bloody dangerous.

I don't think Stewart will get called up to the AFL side after getting a concussion 3 mins in the Nord game.

Nor should he. Should be having the week off from all games. Some things you just don't take any risk with.

Well if it were a relay race it would be crazy to drop him but it's footy and he can't kick and is still tackling shit besides his great one near 3qtr time.

I don't think its a secret our game-plan is based on outrunning opponents rather than beating them with exquisite footskills. You need the right players to execute such a game-plan.

I wouldnt be dropping one of our best runners (even with some questionable disposal) at this point in time. And to be honest I cant see Ken doing it either.
