Preparing for a loss in this one fellas. Gold Coast will be more suited to the conditions and think with the ins and outs for both sides it's Gold Coast's to lose.
Have some faith mate! Pretty sure I heard a few say that last year! we are a much better team this time round..

Don't underestimate the effect the Little Master has on the Suns. He didn't play last time.

They're twice the side for his presence.

It's the sort of challenge that I feel Beveridge will get us up and about for! This team has been tested a lot this season by some good teams, and I doubted them every time leading up to it. We will see what happens.

They looked like a completely different side last weekend. I really really rate Dixon and can see him kicking a serious bag like last week and with our limited backs he and Lynch will run riot I think.

We may be a different side but we have been playing some shocking footy over the last few weeks barely beating Carlton and St. Kilda, and I think we have gotten Gold Coast when they will be cherry ripe on the weekend.

Wow. Until I saw the line up I underestimated the effects of our outs. We will be lucky to scrape this out as a win. If we do so our forwards have to function fully!

I wonder why he is there. Not listed as emergency, and not selected for Footscray. Interesting.
maybe just the experience of traveling inner state?

That does make sense. Let him experience one of the bigger trips, let him do some training with the group in the Cairns weather and fly back with the team.
i believe we did the same for the port game taking Daniel over when he wasn't going to play.

Hamling and Roughead out, oh shite we are ****** Dixon and Lynch are gunna run amok.............

Seriously this mob has only won 2 games, most of their players except Gaz, Swallow and Malceski have played most games for them this season, as long as we win the pill in the guts or break even there and Mino beats Nicholls we'll win.

1 player alone won't win GC the game, last time I checked we have kept other cellar dwellers to 74, 56 and 53 points the last 3 weeks, yes Hamling out hurts but Talia will do his best as a replacement, he needs Boyd and Wood to help him in the air.

Just think everyone is getting sucked in by the media and stuff this week of the aura of two men who get talked up there as long as everyone plays their role we'll be fine. If we lose Il be bloody disappointed.

I don't think it's the correct decision to bring Boyd back in the wet, humid conditions of Cairns.

No problems with the other ins. Prudden had to get his chance sooner or later, Hunter is good for this type of game, and Talia will be extremely important with Hamling and Roughead out. Still would've liked to see Biggs in.

Roughead and Hamling will be missed but this team looks pretty strong nevertheless.
It's not drastically different to our early season teams.
Was Hamling playing then? And we've added Daniel to the mix.
I know it's in the genes of Bulldog fans to be pessimistic, but we should be able to win this one.

Biggs is a fair way down the pecking order. How long did we sign him for?
He's a fair way off the mark IMO. Seen him live 3 times now and he's short, not overly quick, looks for the easy kick and can butcher it. Has a lot to work on to make it at the top level at his size.

Edit: and I think it was 2 years, wasn't it?

He's not short? - 187. No KPD size but not meant to be.

I thought he was OK in the twos last week, he is a good kick of the footy, ran hard to the right spots and was a presence all day. Didn't rate his games in the AFL side this season but he'll get more opportunities down the line I would've thought.

To be fair, I didn't see last week's game. Perhaps I haven't seen his good one's yet.

Are people being negative on purpose? What is the point to all this pessimism, to soften the pain if we get beaten?

If the players had the attitude of half the people on this forum, it will become an Essendon/Saints job.

I'd rather make a statement than an excuse!

People have been saying this is a danger game, the teams going to drop this one, the side wont win 4 games in a row against weaker sides and yet its 1 more win for a 4 game winning streak.

The Suns backline match up really well on us actually. Day to boyd, Thompson to redpath and May to stringer.

Morris on Dixon according to lineup? no chance haha. Also, only a 30% chance of rain, so it may not be as bad as everyone thinks. Also bare in mind, The dogs have played in Darwin/Cairns for bloody years, they will adjust to any humid conditions. Ye of little faith!
