needs some forward craft when around goal...disposal is horrible
Can't disagree with that. His finishing was horrendous.

It's not as if he put up the white flag though. Consistency of effort was there, and as long as it is, I'll never tear strips off a kid for having an off day. Dropping him would be counter-productive.

Out: Morris (inj) Roughead (ing) McLean (inj) Honeychurch (omit)
In: Talia, Boyd, Crameri, Hrovat

B: Talia Roberts Wood
HB: Murphy, Hamling, Boyd
C: Macrae, Wallis, Dahlhaus
HF: Dickson Redpath Crameri
F: Stringer Boyd Hrovat
R: Minson, Picken, Bont

Morris played with a broken jaw. You would never have known. Love you lots Dale.

There is not enough man love in the world for this bloke. Absolute star.

At least we get to see our future play together in the same team. Roberts, Hamling, Talia

Out - Morris, Roughy, McLean
In - Talia, Cramer, Boyd

I don't mean to be a prick (who I am I kidding perhaps I do....) Is it a off day? or indicative of a greater problem that needs fixing.

His disposal isn't a strength, but West Coast game aside, its been fine this year.

Today was a horror show.

dale, daniel and mcclean are already all better than him.....bit of a worry

Could do with a bit of a shake up.

OUT:
Roughead, McLean, Dalhaus (rest)

IN:
Crameri, Talia, Hrovat

I'd stick with Honeychurch for another week as I loved his game earlier in the season and believe he deserves a decent crack.

If Boyd is okay then I'd consider a swap for Redpath.

To be honest, its F@#$Kin hard!
guys are having a bad game here and there and are dropped, or we assume they should be dropped, simply because of the amount of talent we have at our disposal. My main thing is to see our forward structure addressed. As for mids well.... so many new recruits performing, and so many others have raised their game this year. Do we bring back Jong (not aware if injured). How ever it pans out, our depth is looking the best its been in decades, to the point guys are getting dropped for mediocre games. Alot of changes happening, and will continue to happen for the rest of the year, but i think the Drink and co, have a goal for next year or the year after moreso than this year. I think about 2% of us had us tipped to make the 8 this year before the first bounce, now most are saying drop this player because the top 4 will smash them. I think what happens in the next few weeks will determine selections, not what has happened. If The Drink and Co, and position on the ladder dictate lets have a crack at the finals, I think bonts, stringer, dahl and maybe a few others should be rested, But I do believe we are developing a team for the next few years, not this one. My issue is sorting out a forward structure, our mids are young and learning and our defense is kicking ass. Though as someone mentioned, it will be interesting to see if a tag is used on Ablett. The only one I can see up to that atm, is Picken, but he has also taken on Libs role as inside mid, so do we get him tagging?? Decisions that well paid coaches lose sleep over, not us....lol. I'd take a punt with Caleb tagging him, as he would soon find space on a turnover or won contested ball. If I had my choice on selections..... I'd focus on the forward half, but am yet to decide who to drop to get it happening. I'd like Boyd, big red and Crameri up there, but I just dont know yet who to sacrifice for a formidable forward structure, that would push stringer, bonts and dahl more into mids and half forwards. Give me some of the drinks wage, and I will make decisions!

Redpath was good. I'd like to see him stay in and have him and Boyd in the same team. Will can carry the load in the ruck, I think he plays better like that anyway.

You are right Big RED was good last night his attack on the ball and the man was hard
9 disposals 8 kicks 1 handball running at 88% Efficiency
1 point and 2 score involvements
7 marks 3 contested marks 1 inside50
3 tackles 1 inside 50 which i must say was one the highlights of last night
1 hitout 1 clanger 1 inside 50
give him a crack with Boyd and Crameri in the same side for at least the run Ayce was given.

But how good were those tackles? Reminds me of Barry Hall in the 2010 NAB cup final against saints.

Morris will play, broken jaw won't worry him, didn't last night. In fact if he lost an arm he'd still play, I think if he lost 2 arms he'd still be listed just doubtful.:D

It's just a flesh wound.....

I think this will be a lot more open than the last two weeks. Can't see rocket locking it down like Richardson and barker have

He wasnt that good in the first half but good in the second half once he got used to the speed of the game and played a little higher up the ground. Jameson was one of there better player and he kept on pushing Redpath under the ball far too easily. I would like him to have 2 or 3 more games to see what he has got to offer at afl level

Out Morris, Roughead, McLean, Honeychurch

In Boyd (if ready) Hrovat, Crameri, talia

Then again that is a fairly tall side so if Boyd isnt ready bring Webb in

GC have a team built by a recruiter who loves outside speed and skill. Carlton and Saints have more contested players. Eade is still in teaching and testing mode to find out who will make it.
Taking this into account, we should be looking for ways to exploit their lack of strength. Ins will be to replace injured players:
Talia for Morris
Boyd for Roughhead
Crameri for McClean
Honeychurch to Sub.

If Maclean is out, I'd like Webb in as our next best ball user and I think he can play higher.

If Rough is out then Boyd in if fit. Cordy if not. Anyone notice how we were outmarked regulary up fwd without Boyd?

Hrovat is better than Honey (and I don't rate Hrovat much at all). Honey's turnovers cost us multiple times poor kid you could see it in Honey's face how embarassed he was. But he shouldn't play. A game like that could cost us a match against a decent side.

If Morris out then Crameri is in. Webb to play back

Is Dickson struggling/close to being dropped for anyone else? Seems to have done next to nothing since the freo game

Really? Tell that to Daniel Rich...Dicko completely shut him out of the game against the Lions. Bev has been using Tory in a different role recently, similar to the role Mick Malthouse had Daisy Thomas play for the Pies when they won the flag.

Gold Coast has a fairly strong side with a couple of talented boys coming off bans and injuries and might field a side that looks like this:
B: Kolodjashnij, May, Saad
HB: Russell, Day, Mckenzie
C: Sexton, Ablett, Malceski
HF: Hall, Lynch, Matera
F: Brooksby, Dixon, Miller
FOL: Nicholls, Rischitelli, Hallahan
I/C: Boston, Swallow, Bennell
SUB: Martin
With injuries to McLean, Morris and Roughead, what side would you line up? And could Boyd, Crameri, Redpath and Stringer work as a forward line.

I think he's had his chance at AFL level and hasn't taken it. Will and should be delisted, imo.

Wow that's harsh. No way would I delist Honeychurch. One bad game, doesn't make him a bad player. Plenty ahead of him in the delist line.

Wouldn't think there'll be mass changes this year with a weak draft coming up. Pearce, Prudden, Fuller, Darley are a fair way ahead of Honey in the delist queue.
