I think we can get the job done against the cats. This is the time to beat them at home as they aren't playing very well. And we have 2 days extra break

Didn't look convincing just then.
Need our mids to really turn it on, can't play hot & cold this week because Cats are mature enough as a squad to not allow us to peg back a deficit.

More confident after seeing them vs Norf than I was before their game.

From todays result our boys must feel they are a big chance if they bring the heat. Even with our outs we are a 5+ goal better team than North even in Geelong.

Saying that the Cats will know they will need to lift as well.

Both sides are spluttering along with injury and suspension. Not in any real form. Just comes down to who wants it more!

Geelong at $1.70 at a few places, with the outs, game playing at GMHBA, and rain, looks like free money. 😫
Currently $1.81 on Sportsbet.
I don't understand why. Didn't see the game today ... did they play like absolute crap and half the team got injured?
I was not expecting to go into this game with realistic hope of winning it. This feels weird.

Amazing that Vardy has his best game in the ruck in ages but people dont or refuse to see it.

Sure he didnt get massive posessions but his ruck work was decent and created several clean clearances.

But people get stuck in their mindsets.

Will be amazed if Vardy doesnt play at his old ground next week.
Let's be honest. He's coming off a very low base here.
If someone's 'best game in the ruck in ages' consists of 8 hitouts, 3 to advantage resulting in two clearances, and a personal impact of 2 x handballs in 60% game time, I'd still call that hugely underwhelming.

That's still a long way off a performance that cries out 'select me, I'm worth a spot, I'm having a positive impact'.

I have rusty but great memories of being there when we won in 98 for Wooshas 200th and in 99 when Cuzzy dominated.

And listenig on the radio when we beat them late in 92 in a great match.

Also 93 we were well behind and came back and won a cracker.

But other than those its been very tough.

Simmo... our last 2 flags were won with decent taggers... Stenglein and Hutchings.

Just saying...

And who would you suggest we use? And who against?

Hutchings is nowhere near the player he was in 2018 and is struggling at WAFL level. Never getting a mention in the best players for a pretty average WAFL team.

Ainsworth has had a few decent if non-influential games for WAFL 2021, but wasn't a tagger.

I will never tire of seeing this.
Hearing the name priddis in that game was bizarre. Our most controversial club great could have been around for a premiership. Im sure there are people who rate him more than rowan jones. Even if rowan put the body on the line to hold onto the granny

Nelson played a soft tag on both Pendles and Sidey. Pendles got a bit loose late but both were ineffective

Thought he was on Crisp most of the time.

But that’s not a great advert for his tagging if so, Crisp led the Pies in disposals and metres gained.

Strange, haven't watched a replay...thought he did a hard tag on Pendles, not a soft one.
Only because Pendlebury was unusually quiet. Interested to know any info.
Was feeling good about Nelly's game

Nelson would start on sidebottom on the wing at centre bounces and redden would go head to head with Pendles .

Nelly would then run with pendelbry during general play . Then if there was a ball up or throw in redden would take pendles in the contest and Nelson would sit outside the contest on the defensive side in the old masten role.

I would tag Guthrie.

Danger butchers the ball and is hard to tag.

Guthrie has become more effective and is tagga be.

Jeremy Cameron to make his Geelong debut against us, according to Scott.

Let’s hope he and Hawkins get in each other’s way.
