Tucker instead of Greenwood is a perplexing decision to my eyes. I really, really hope it's part of some objective and that the coaches don't end up scratching their heads wondering why Melbourne are waltzing it out of every ******* stoppage come tomorrow night

Phillips needs to play, even though he'll likely get smashed. Our future is not going to look brighter if we keep binning off the kids after a couple of bad performances. Hate this team sometimes, just poor decisions so often

Can't destroy his confidence mate.

He'll be in and out of the side this year let him mix it up getting 25+ possies in the VFL whilst gradually learning the AFL structures and building his fitness.

He's on the right path won't leave any stone unturned but I was disappointed in he and Powell's performance against GC.

We're ****ed. Seriously ****ed.

What's the bet every player in the Melbourne team gets on scoresheet tomorrow night?
I hope the boys don't go in with that attitude. This is a chance to develop some heart and character and see who is really up for the fight. If we get flogged its probably a good thing cos we'll see who has stuck their hand up and had a crack against the odds and who hasn't. If we don't get flogged or even win then everyone playing has at least shown some fight and heart and that's the most important thing we need once we start playing finals.

Tom Powell is up against it. He'll get beaten against Oliver or Petracca but its how he gets beaten that will show us whether he's really got it or not, at least if he can develop the sort of game he needs to win flags. If he makes it hard for them and does a few things that get it going our way then he's developing nicely for a third year player in his situation. If its too hard for him cos they are big strong players then someone like Shiels can help him out.

Sheezel could play on the wing. Not necessarily Langdon but Sparrow. Altho he could nullify someone like Langdon or Rivers if he gets used right. he's a smart player and might be able to force them to think about defending him.

Lets hope we can use three talls effectively cos that will also break Melbourne's systems.

We're a chance here. Massive underdogs but if we work hard early, don't let them get the drop on us but make it hard for them instead, then they may not be expecting it or mentally prepared and we can give them a real run for their money. In those circumstances even a courageous loss will have real value for this side, especially if Jy is struggling and a few younger guys go hard to support him.

Worst thing is its a rare free-to-air CH7 game and its against a top 4 side.
What braniacs at AFL or CH7 thought that was a good idea when doing the fixture?
Anyway, we're gonna get rolled, it might be by 100, but let's see what we can get out of it. Time to experiment a bit if its not going our way.
Maybe Zurhaar plays a full game in the middle. Does Sheezel get more time in there? Does Curtis or Taylor get a run through there?
We need to bring some decent pressure like Tigers did or we're no chance to compete.

I suspect that logic only holds when we have half a dozen inside mids to share the rotations.

With the current selections available, every Roo in the coalface will be gassed by the fourth quarter except for Simpkin.
Slow is slow though and the mix wouldn’t be right with both, even given our injury predicament. Plus, it means we actually might look for potential long term alternatives and develop the likes of Powell.
