Douglas needs to rediscover his confidence... the nut crusher has stolen his mojo...
Sloane needs to go to another level...one with a bit of polish on the disposal
the whole team needs to get randy for kicking goals...attack
the little backwards handball needs to be pissed off...it's slow and its shit
throw charlie in the guts for a bit...
focus on the future...

B: otten, rutten, Brown
Hb: Grigg, Talia, jaensch
C: Sloane, kerridge, mackay
Hf: Douglas, walker, lyons
F: Cameron, Mckernan, Betts
R: Jacobs, Smith, Thompson
I: Jenkins, m crouch, Laird, Martin (sub)

Ins: Mckernan, m crouch, Grigg
Outs: podsiadly, Dangerfield (inj), Ellis-yolmen

Smith into the midfield mix & increase rotations with Lyons & m crouch.

Grigg to join mj as backline distributors with Smith moving into the midfield.

Smack to spend 40% time in ruck as sauce showing signs of tiring.

Utilise Martin's run as the sub & also on notice.

IMO Grigg would be super across HB

I like it.

Either he or Kerridge.

To facilitate Grigg we need to ensure Reilly stays out of the side, and one of Truck or Otten are dropped for Hartigan as the one thing Grigg lacks is pace and our backline can't afford to get any slower.

Oh no not Dopey, JJ still ahead of him in the first 18. Martin will get dropped and what is this run you speak of?

Sends jj a message that he needs to get better mentally as yesterday's performance was very poor.

One of Martin's strengths is he is a good gut runner.

Not sure Martin will be given another chance after that dog shit excuse of a performance.

It is generally believed that it takes at least 50 games for AFL players to perform consistently.

If one of our inexperienced players plays a poor game (e.g. JJ) or even has a quiet half (e.g. Cameron) then the BigFooty experts are calling for their heads. We are still a chance to play finals, you beauty Triggy, we have a 30% chance if the Gold Coast falls apart and half of Essendon are suspended.

Here is something novel, let's ask "what will best help us to develop into a top 4 contender".

Out
- JPod, he has played 2 good games out of 11. I love his spirit but he's not part of the future
-Truck, he has not played a good game this year (and that includes the SANFL and pre-season) and it is a 6 day break.
- Martin, he has shown glimpses but there are younger more talented players available
- Jaensch, he can't defend and he was shaken up yesterday. Jaensch on Harvey, OMG.
In
- Matty Crouch, why was he dropped. He had one quiet game
- Hartigan, he has played 10 games FFS, he will make mistakes. He might be worse that Truck but not much worse.
- Grigg, he has also only played 10 games, play him till it hurts.
- Reilly, let's get this 200 game thing out of the way so we can plan for the future.

I would also drop Jarryd Lyons if we insist on playing him as a defensive forward. Allow him to spend the summer in Europe before he comes back to bite us on the arse next year. All of our first choice mids are also dangerous forwards. Why not spread the load around in the midfield?

Brad Crouch is a key part of our future, one more game in the SANFL and bring him back against Essendon. If Wrighty is O.K. then I can understand bringing him in for CEY but I would certainly play CEY before the 4 players mentioned as outs.

I'd rather the coaching staff challenge him to respond, every player has an off day, it's how they respond that generally defines them. If Jenkins serves up another turd of a game, then sure he needs to be dropped.

I also believe with our current position we can't afford to be so reactionary with selections, if we identify a player as a genuine long term member of our side, he needs to be backed in. Without a doubt he's our 2nd best key forward prospect going forward, he needs to be backed in at senior level to see if he actually has the strength of will to correct form lapses in a timely fashion without getting dropped.

Agree... Though a few mins on the bench surely would fire him up & it's not like I suggested dropping him! doesn't make much difference these days to a player's overall mins if they start on the bench.

What I would do:

Out: Martin, Ellis-Yolmen
In: Grigg, M Crouch
Sub: Lyons or M Crouch

What will probably happen:

Out: Ellis-Yolmen, Lyons
In: Reilly, Wright
Sub: Martin or Wright

Grigg MUST play. It's ****ing ludicrous at this point how awful our foot skills are. The equal best kick in the squad (along with Smith obviously) is rotting away in the reserves. Put him in and leave him in.

Brad Crouch needs 1 more week in the twos IMO. We've rushed him back previously with terrible results.

Judging by the press conference Brad won't play and Matt probably will

Yeah send JJ a message while playing a guy who until last weekend barely deserved an sanfl game (Mckernen)?

Hmmm good message.

Smack was best on ground this weekend. Maybe we should rest Gus more often.

Mckernen was not best on ground. Just because one report names him best on ground that does not automatically make him best on ground. He played ruck and had 30 hitouts. Big deal he won't be playing first ruck in afl team. He had 14 possessions, 1.1goal. He was not BOG. Jacobs has more impact in AFL than Smack has in SANFL.

Ok you were at the game I assume or you looking at stats guessing? The know 2 guys that went and they said he was BOG.

Dominant performance in ruck.

I didn't see the game, but from the reports I can confidently predict;

Out - Martin and cey
In - reilly and crouch m

Maybe jaensch (inj) for Grigg as sub.

If smack was to come in it would be at the expense of jj. Pods is untouchable because he offers the flexibility of going down back. Truth be told, his is the first name on the board each week and the rest of the team is built around him. He's the only player proven to have mastered total football.

Pods out for hartigan (otten goes forward. We are lacking a contested marking player)

Danger out for m.crouch (needs to get his body right)

CEY out for grigg (just dont think he will make it unfortunatly)

Agree with those saying Truck needs to be dropped. It's terribly sad as he has been a club legend. But every forward knows they can just run off him with ease. He was never fast, but he is now barely above walking pace. Age gets everyone in the end, and you can't persist with someone just because he is a good bloke. Make him our defensive coach.

McKernan was one of the best for the ravens - take off your hate glasses.

Meanwhile JJ's efforts were pathetic against Freo. The gap between his best & worst is huge & he really stinks when he plays badly as the effort was missing. That's the bit which annoys me the most!

I'm not talking about dropping him (yet), but shaking him up, as his efforts on Sunday were totally unacceptable for a professional footballer... & yes, he wasn't alone - but JJ is the Crows' player with the biggest gap between his best & worst this year.
