At this stage based on injury guess work..

OUT: Talia, Morris (inj), Campbell (inj), Grant (inj), Pearce, Smith, Daniel

IN: Roberts, M. Boyd, Picken, Roughead, Hrovat, T. Boyd, Webb

Basically ruck is rotated among Rough, Boyd and Redpath. Redpath stays, just because Boyd may ruck more as Rough goes back on Brown.

Talia misses out instead of Hamling because if the MC thought Talia was any good they would have played him on Kennedy rather than an undersized Hamling who was getting slaughtered. Plus Talia was ordinary. Its rare to see a player play a full match and receive negative AFL ranking points but somehow Talia achieved this.

Roughie to ruck against goldie? I'd be keen to have a look at that.
It's an interesting situation. I think Rough comes in over Minson as he's more versatile, but Minson would certainly help us combat Goldstein in what is a pretty important game. It then becomes a balancing act between the great structure we've had for the past month or so and being too tall again though...tricky.

Pretty happy to go in with Rough and Boyd to be honest. Mids will need to be on the ball but they've been pretty good all season so far.

All known strengths of Tom Boyd
Shit call. I don't think Tom has had a free against this year. He's also 200cms and draws defenders and has taken more contested marks against better opposition than Redpath who barely took one against the most undersized defence in the league. Seriously he lost several contests with noted key position defender Elliott Yeo.

This is about the closest to mine, except swap rat for honey. Although from reports, Roberts still not up to scratch at VFL level let alone seniors.

Out: Daniel (omit) In: Hrovat
Out: Smith (omit) In: Moyd
Out: Pearce (omit) In: Roughead
Out: Grant (inj) In: Picken
Out: Morris (inj) In: Minson/Toyd

To be fair Big Tom doesn't have the aggression in him to crush a ladybug let alone give away a free kick.

On the VFL radio stream I heard the commentators say Boyd gave away a questionable free kick against Steinberg on Friday night and was visably angry and frustrated so he shoved Steinberg back to the ground as he was getting up.

"You just... you couldn't have picked a worse time!" :P

I think Campbell would be out this week with a severe cork. Minson in for him. I agree with the rest except Pearce stays in for me with Daniel out. One more week to see if he can play at the level.

I get you're not a fan of Big Jack IM, but I'm not sure you can label it a shit call when there are just as many question marks on Toyd at this early stage....For mine I think they can and should both play.

If either Boyd or Picken are unable to come back this week, I really feel we need to bring Goodes in as a strong body who can play inside to compete with the big inside mids that Norf have at their disposal. And wouldn't it be a fairytale if he could get one last chance at AFL footy and really run with it and drive us into September! jong simply wasn't up too it last week. He's had his chance. Now it's time for Goodes to get another crack. He can kick goals and also play in defense. He deserves one more chance.

It's pretty much a fact that Boyd is a better mark and doesn't give away free kicks, so yeah I'm standing by that post.
Redpath is massively overrated on this board, he's a big country footballer playing in the big leagues and making a good fist of it. Boyd is the best key forward prospect to walk into the Whitten Oval since Chris Grant, they aren't even comparable.
I'm all for keeping Red in the side but not at the expense of an in form Boyd (not there yet) and a mobile structure (they both can't play in the same side). But let's be honest he's back up at best and a liability at worst.

Tend to agree with this. Jack has had some good moments though and seems to be improving constantly to his credit.

Yep, forgot to add at the bottom that if TC doesn't pull up then Minno comes in.

I think it's obvious now that Pearce is not up to AFL standard unfortunately.

I more or less agree with this. Boyd actually worries key backs. I reckon we struggle with retention with a player as weak a mark as Redpath. He's holding his spot fine, I'm really happy for him and his develop will be good for our club but Boyds a lot better and I don't see them in the same side

Yeah. Full credit to the bloke, works his arse off on and off the field and seems extremely popular.
It just worries me when a bloke his size can't outbody players significantly smaller than him.

Does anyone think Tom Boyd would've lost a one on one with Elliott Yeo, let alone several?

Yeah that is the issue for me mike....the physicality or lack of it. Think it was mentioned in the commentary in the past fortnight that 'big' jack is somewhat deficient in this area
