how bout dean soloman down back?? ^^^

Yea was thinking that but IMO with Peake, Ballantyne, Hill, Solomon, Thornton and Pav foward if the ball got down there it would be pretty hard getting it out espically with the pace of Hill/Peake/Balla and the toughness of Solomon and Pav. :thumbsu:

Thornton is there because he is better in front than behind. :p

With Pearce down back Solly will prob swap between the two, but love his forward pressure which is something we have lacked for a while.

Im gonna disagree on dodd and head.

Dodd was great against Nth early in the game outmarking his opponent and was then constantly under the pump when the midfield went to sleep for 3 quarters. McPh up forward was butchering chances all day but the damage appears limited when at full forward. When dodd makes a mistake he's punished on the scoreboard. It could be argued that McPh is just as costly.

I'm gonna give head some time. Hes too slow at the minute but made some good tackles and Im gonna assume he is finding his feet. We waited 4 years for schammer or peake to do anything and now they're coming along nicely.

Didn't we win that game (BOB debut game) to stuff up Port's finals chances?

We came close but just lost, really pushed them though it was a good game. Brock Obrien starred; wish he could get his body right i think he is going to be a good player.
 Port won by 32 points.

Good luck this week.

The difference with Byron and Peake, is that they are 23 and 25 respectively, or +/- 1 year but not more. Head on the other hand is 26? or so, and was drafted as a plug in and play typ eplayer.

We can't afford him the same luxuries that we game Peake and Schammer as they were young when they came and are now showing things that we would expect of splayers who have been on the list for 4+ years. Much like Duffield.

Sadly, it shows the state of the Freo list that we even needed to draft players like HEad due to trading blunders which left a huge hole in our list that needed to be temporarily filled with players like Head.

Also, head is in the team for his long kicking, no doubt about it. Long left foot kicks from half back. He will be deficient in other areas, like Headland who is soft as sh1te but a beautiful kick.

Thats why I like suban so much..he is quick and a great kick.

Forward pressure is non existant now that pav is up the ground. Murphy, McPh, headland and Thornton are a write off if they dont mark the ball.

i missed fosters first game howd he go!??.. could he be pushed up to forward flank??

Foster did some ok things. A few games to get up to tempo and I think he'll be useful. Kicking was a bit of a worry but that could have been the pressure.
I disagree about Headland being useless once the ball hits the deck. At least he knows how to find it. Showed more in 2 quarters than anything else we've had up there for a while. Would be very handy as a forward if he can get on the park regularly.
