I did that some time ago actually - well, can't remember if I unfollowed her actually or she banned me for providing constructive criticism accross her shit house journalism, ahhh, there I go again. Not sure what it is about her but she certainly hits a sore spot with me.

And if Geelong end up with Laverde I'm out of here!

Well - Is she any Worse then the Knobs who Write for the Herald Sun and The Age?

Snoop Dog, can you confirm if we interviewed Laverde recently ?

Yep but dont read much into that as also interviewed WRight again. The media saying someone was recently interviewed is over dramatised. All clubs will typically have interviewed the top 30-40 players as well a range of others they are keen on. Clubs also look to make their final decisions by end of last week so I would be if many are still debating their Rd 1 selections. Particularly if they are in the top 10. Amongst the AFL clubs It hink they are pretty clear on where top 10 sits now. Clubs with selections post 10 will have a preference and then their contingency plans if that player gets taken earlier.

Hope that helps.

So would the Top 10 would almost be Settled now with Clubs not just Waiting for the Draft to Start then?

FA imo is a bit of a poisoned challice too.

Sure you may pick up a Cameron for 1-1.3mil + a year over 5-7 years but look at what that does to the cap and the follow on effect to the rest of the list, you would eventually be forced to move on quality due to tight caps.

If you draft it then look for an FA gun mid for 600-800k it would have much less ramifications, quality KPFs come with a surcharge that quite frankly most the midfielder's wont except for the elite of the elite.

PS I would love McKenzie at 30 I don't think it will happen though.

I dont mind McKenzie at 30 but my understanding is he is the player that has polarised clubs more than anyone.

Pick 5: J. Laverde (Gives the Pies the player we need; Pace, X-Factor, Efficient, Goal Kicker, Side Step)

Pick 9: D. Moore (Future captain and exciting key position prospect)

Pick 30: R. Mckenzie (Mountain of a man Key Position Forward, can mark the ball at its peak and could be a great pick to sit at FF)

Pick 48: T. McLean (Would complement Elliott in the pocket and would be an exciting player for us, we always wanted 2 Jamie Elliott's, now is our chance)

Pick 85: Peter Bampton (Would be great to have this man slide to our last pick but may not last. Ready to go mid could play straight away)

How so? Questions over attitude or ability?

He is such a big kid that he should have been able to monster his opponents more and kick more goals against better sides. His hauls came in a big way vs sides that were pretty lowly rated. Look at his numbers vs the better sides and he struggled. I saw a couple of his games and he just didnt do as well as I would have hoped. Look at a kid Tom Boyd. Strong view that he was a dominant junior (like Hawkins) who got their goals bc they could monster their opponents as they were just physically so much bigger. When they got to AFL level they both struggled as they came up agaisnt bigger bodies and didnt have the leading pattern knowledge etc to fall back on. My tip is Boyd will continue to bc his leading patters seemed are all over the place and he didnt seem to understand what he was doing. So the fear with mcKenzie is he couldnt dominate when he probably should have been able to. Either be being a good leader at the footy or towering over his opponents. Not saying I agree with it but that is a view.

Found that Intresting and IF he does go I reckon they will be saying we will Draft him

That's talking about attendance to the draft so they can do a guernsey presentation to the top 10 isn't it?

The article actually does say Langford is tipped to get a late call up. Which if he does, I can't think of anyone else in the top 10 who might draft him, maybe Gold Coast? Having said that, I assume they'd invite probably 15 or so players just to keep it interesting regardless.

I can count 16 players who have invitations, not yet include Langford. That list is as follows:

Petracca
Brayshaw
McCartin
Wright
Heeney
Moore
Pickett
Laverde
Durdin
Ahern
Weller
Duggan
De Goey
Goddard
Lever
Marchbank

The one with the late call up was Durdin, who they speculate is invited on the basis of him being a club's backup plan (in my opinion for the Giants). Last year, there was a late call up given to Lewis Taylor who ended up going in the 20s to Brisbane.

Going by this and what I've read I'd make my top 10 as follows:

1. Petracca
2. Brayshaw
3. McCartin
4. Pickett
5. Laverde
6. De Goey
7. Goddard
8. Duggan
9. Moore
10. Wright

I think that reads exactly the same as maybe the Herald Sun's phantom? Or The Age? I dunno, it looks familar though. The rest of the guys added seem to be a mixture of guys who are backup plans plus thrown in for good measure to keep it interesting on draft night. I'd actually be more intrigued if they invited 20 guys though, personally.

8. DARCY MOORE (199cm swingman)

Drifted between the arcs for Vic Metro but averaged 91 SuperCoach points and two goals as a key forward.

WE SAY: Athletic swingman with captaincy potential will join Collingwood at No.9 and take a few years to blossom at AFL level, but the Pies see him as their centre-half back for the next decade.

Well IF we are looking at Moore as a CHB then I be looking at Possibly Drafted Peter Wright at Pick 5 to Play as a KPF

It's an odd view to have judging by his highlights at least. Nearly all his marks were taken on the lead from memory in his highlights package. I don't remember him physically monstering many opponents.

Hard to tell these things from YouTube though...

Isn't Heeney going in the 20s to the Swans? Why is he invited

Pick 5:
Petracca, McCartin, Brayshaw are LOCKED in the top 3 for mine so won't be on the table. GWS are very hard to read at the moment. I would have thought after losing Jaksch, Boyd and Giles I would have thought that they would be certain to bring in Peter Wright. They have since been linked first to Jayden Laverde and then Jarrod Pickett at Pick 4. I think the best quality around at Pick 5 will be Jayden Laverde or Jarrod Pickett (whichever one the Giants don't pick), Jake Lever, Peter Wright and Kyle Langford. I really rate all 5 of these players very highly. My preference from these prospects in order: 1.Kyle Langford 2.Jayden Laverde 3.Jarrod Pickett 4. Jake Lever 5. Peter Wright. Id be happy with any of these 5 but really want Langford or Laverde.

Pick 9:
Darcy Moore (F/S) Locked In.

Pick 30 & 48:
Who we take at Pick 5 will greatly determine how we draft for the rest of the draft. There are a number of players that I rate around this range. The ones that I would like at Collingwood the most are: Connor Blakely, Damien Cavka, Reece McKenzie and Dillon Viojo-Rainbow. Connor Blakely I believe is one of the most underated players in this draft. He is an excellent inside midfielder and if he can improve his outside game a bit, has A grade midfielder written all over him. Damien Cavka has been strongly compared to Brent Stanton as he has elite endurance and is a goal kicker. Reece McKenzie is an absolute BEAST is your traditional power fwd ala Cloke, Hawkins. Marks it at its highest peak, I see him developing into one of if not the best tall fwd in this draft. Dillon Viojo- Rainbow is a midfielder/defender with elite kicking (we could def use some of that) who I really rate and funnily enough im a friend of a friend of his. I rate these 4 in this order: 1.Connor Blakely 2. Reece McKenzie 3. Dillon Viojo-Rainbow 4. Damien Cavka. There is no chance that Blakely will be available at 48 but a good chance he could be there at 30 and he is my personal preference at this pick. If he isn't available id then look to McKenzie, Viojo-Rainbow or Cavka. I have seen Reece McKenzie, Dillon Viojo-Rainbow and Damien Cavka all projected to potentially last past pick 48 so I am hopeful that one of these 3 will be available at 48. My preferences at this pick would be: 1.Reece McKenzie 2.Dillon Viojo-Rainbow 3. Damien Cavka. if none of these 3 are available id look to midfielders Dean Gore, Peter Bampton, Blaine Boekhorst and small forwards Toby McLean, Ed Langdon and Jack Lonie.

Pick 85:
We will either pass on this pick or if there is someone there we really rate still available then we will use the pick. My gut feeling is that someone Dekka rates will be there at 85 and we WILL use the pick. I think the guys we would be looking at there are: Dean Gore, Peter Bampton, Blaine Boekhorst, Toby McLean, Ed Langdon, Jack Lonie and wouldn't mind Saad at 85 either. My preference here would be Dean Gore followed by Peter Bampton.

So lets just say the draft goes as well as it possibly could then we would end up with:

Pick 5: Kyle Langford
Pick 9: Darcy Moore
Pick 30: Connor Blakely
Pick 48: Reece McKenzie
Pick 85: Dean Gore

Pretty much every single one of our young forwards has spent some time in defence, I'm thinking it will be the same as Moore.

Gault Fasolo Sinclair Mooney Marsh ect from recent years
Yep. Even Cloke spent some time in defence during his developing years iirc.

Based on Dekka's statement "I’ve never seen a draft where it’s been so open, pretty much from pick No. 1 all the way through to No. 101" it would be fair to assume we use pick 85.

Even more so if there are only approx 65 live picks as most are suggesting.

Probly not as Melbourne are more than likely to pick both Petracca and Brayshaw
