That's what I thought when I typed my previous response... That being said, surely we would have been aligned to the Jets.

Carlton was paired with the Northern Knights, Collingwood with the Oakleigh Chargers, Essendon with the Calder Cannons, Geelong with the Geelong Falcons, Hawthorn with Eastern Ranges, Melbourne with Gippsland Power, North Melbourne with the Murray Bushrangers, Richmond with the Dandenong Stingrays, St Kilda with the Sandringham Dragons, and the Western Bulldogs with North Ballarat.

can we have the Jets though

And just over four weeks before the AFL season starts clubs expect to be given permission to nominate a list of up to 10-12 state league or VFL players to play senior football in case of a Covid-19 crisis.

The players would be officially linked to their AFL team, with most clubs having their own VFL side or an alignment such as Melbourne and the Casey Demons.

Footy will keep going this season, despite COVID.

Victorian sides will have access to up to 20 players on their vfl list.

AFL football boss Brad Scott raised that model on a call to clubs today.

Specifics will be finalised and announced over the next week.

Does that mean Footscray VFL players can’t be raided by other AFL clubs? (Only by the WB)

Correct
Standalone clubs allow 24-30 players signed so pretty much the entire team when you account development players

Somewhat surprised we've persevered with Drummond. He's 27 and has always been a bit player in our VFL side rather than an influential one. The other two have shown something at the level recently and are young enough for further improvement.

We lost Hayes, Cavarra & Lipinski while McComb may very well end up yo-yoing between the AFL & VFL as what usually happens with a pick up like him. Drummond at least gives us a little more experience and he & Sullivan are probably earmarked as the leaders.
