Anyone who thinks Kolodjasnij is a good footballer needs a knock to the head. Clark is poor under pressure too but at least he provides run. We need to focus on this area in future drafts.

The worst game I've seen Henry play. He tries hard but he's an intercept defender or a forward. I should have stuck with my first impressions of O'Connor too .. he's useless.

Clark has only just started. He'll be ok. Kolo has been in the system for years and hasn't improved under pressure. When Motlop fxxking out marks you in a one on one when you are 8cm taller and 10kg heavier its bloody embarrassing.

Henry just makes too many howlers. He has good moments too. But he needs to play within his limitations. When he starts to think he can play as a midfielder it's time someone tapped him on the shoulder....

O'Connor very very disappointing tonight.

I have made a lot of poor decisions in my life but going to this game with a die hard hawks fan has to be one of the worst.

I think this could have been a very different story. Early on when we had more scoring shots and were spraying them there were even numbers across most of the ground. We weren't awful at moving the ball and had we made good on some of the set shots we may have been up by a bit at half time.

What really killed it was after half time you could see some port players in all kinds of space on the wings just being paid no attention. Some players, and I couldn't honestly tell you who from where I was sitting, just decided that they weren't going to win the match.

Blitz was everywhere and without him we'd have been a shambles. Harry was outstanding, I still don't understand how he's walking. Henry caught a few times but that's only because he was attacking the contest without support.

It's disappointing, but I really didn't think we'd win that anyway. We'll be better next week not coming off a bye.

Motlop had his Minchington night tonight. Been Casper the ghost for 3 years and fronted up tonight. Once every 3 year sprinkler popped up tongiht.
If you want to give him a deal on that.. go ahead. Needed to leave GFC when he did. But yes, he has his 1 in 3 year game tonight for sure.

Why is Taylor copping it? Did people watch the same game I did or what? Dixon did nothing besides slot a soft free kick, full back keeping a forward to 6 touches isn't the one to target.

Agreed, the problem wasn't the back six. It was our clearances after half time, and the lack of overlapping runners.

We are not good enough to not take our chances and win. Simple as that. Game is completely different if we were 3 goals up at half time like we should have been. We could have absorbed Port's run on and been on level pegging going into the last quarter.

On the positive side all finals from here are in Queensland, no more byes and we can't lose a GF against Richmond from here.

What if Brisbane win and then tigers and cats make GF? But yeah probably not.

Taylor beat his man. For a fullback to play on the AA CHF and keep him to 6 touches and a goal is a better effort than McKenzie down the other end, he only got saved by Hawkins being poor.

Kolo and Henry >>>> Clark.

Less convinced on Clark than I am Parfitt.
He isn't the answer. A proven HBF player in the vein of Saad, Maynard etc is what is needed. Not a raw prospect that might come good (not saying we trade for one) but Clark is just as much the answer as Constable, Narkle, Zuthrie or Simpson are. These guys are less talented than the guys in the team.

And before it is raised, we don't do rebuilds.

Clark? You mean the bloke thats played 21 games or something versus 106 games and 62 games? Kolo is what he is, a solid, never great, rarely bad type of guy. Clark will be a whole different league. And for all the talk about Jack Henry's marking and athleticism, I think Clark has shown more marking ability and athleticism in his short time. Clark will be a dead set gun.

That being said, not sure its the right time to bring him in.

Henderson was good. So was selwood. Danger not bad.

I'll agree with Henderson. Selwood played like his age and match fitness would dictate. Dangerfield other than his running goal was, pathetic. SPP destroyed him in the middle because yet again, he refuses to defend unless he thinks he can get something from it for himself.

Is it not also that you appear (not saying it's the case, but it certainly seems to be from years of observation) to disappear when we win and then come out to gloat when we lose? You're not necessarily wrong in a lot of your assessments but it often seems like you'd prefer Geelong to lose and prove you right than Geelong to win and have to concede. That's what I think irks people. History is showing you and a handful of others may very well be right about Scott's inability to get us beyond Top 4 side into being a Premiership side (2011 aside) but I so rarely see you celebrating wins but whenever we lose you're one of the loudest voices.
