Listening to Trade Radio this morning (yep guilty as charged) and with I'm 99.9999% sure that Dal Santo is on the mid level of the spectrum. From not being able to spell or count (see the math-o-mat) he now has added not being able to pronounce words to his bow. If McClure and Dal Santo were Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis you just know which one is Jerry Lewis. What a ******* douchebag 🤣

Not on the spectrum - as those things are not typical of it. Just a plain old dumb * former footy player.

He is a special boy good ol Nickey Dal. I wonder if he has any tattoos and if he does then I hope he used spellcheck :)

Reckon Dodo will put in an early bid on Finn just to piss us off? Seems like the kind of cheap stunt he'd know would play well with the Bombres* supporterbase, as his own personal stocks may take a hit with this Daniher fiasco.

Despite the disappointment at losing a F/S prospect I would be delighted if he does. Another emotional decision in Bomberland will only help keep those gooses in the shameful state they currently are. Plus it would make Sydney's giving up pick 5 for Daniher easier to swallow as it would get used on a player closer to Daniher's actual value.

So Ollie Wines approached Carlton about a trade and they told him they weren't interested, despite Patrick Cripps desperately craving midfield support and staring down the barrel of a career shortened by years of having to carry the rest of the team on his shoulders?

Never change Carlton. Please give Silvagni the list management the job for life. :thumbsu:

Honestly I think SOS is a decent list manager, he did tremendously well in how he set GWS up. I think the issue is that even club legends like SOS can have their plans soiled by the Carlton mafia.

You can't deny that he set GWS up tremendously.

Bringing in IP from successful clubs when they first came into the league (Power, Brogan, Cornes, Gilham etc), those deals to offload junk to Melbourne to pick up Kelly. Picking up young players who would be at their peak when GWS were at their peak (Davis, Ward, Scully, Heater), as opposed to picking up players who were going to be past their prime (Ablett).

The amount of draft currency GWS were gifted was such that any kind of scattergun approach would work, its virtually impossible to use as many top 10 picks as GWS have and not end up with a ridiculous amount of talent. I'm guessing you also forgot how juicy their Riverina Acadmey was before the AFL changed it. Oh, and they also had COLA back then and extra list spots. The amount of concessions the club was given ensured the strength of its list, it had nothing to do with him.

Silvagni throwing away this year's first rounder on Liam Stocker really says it all about his obvious incompetence. The only reason he still has a job -other than being a favorite son of the club- is they were lucky enough to scrape a bunch of wins under Teague, and Adelaide's season fell off a cliff.

You're pointing out a deal that worked? It wasn't luck. Adelaide were a basket case, he would have known that on the back of bringing over McGovern. He would have had all the intel in the world that Adelaide were in a terrible place which turned out to be 100% true.

They rated Stocker, managed to land him and only gave up a few spots in a draft that appears to be relatively even.

He's not a bad list manager. There are far worse.

Silvagni gave up what could've very easily been pick 1 had they not sacked Bolton mid-season, for a run-of-the-mill player most analysts thought was worth a late first rounder who had absolutely no impact in his first season.

If that doesn't quality as s**t list management, s**t list management does not exist. That's without even considering the amount of GWS duds he's traded for.

He inherited a shocking list mate. There needed to be a rapid turnover of players in that club and he managed to make it happen quickly. He traded in a bunch of GWS talent from drafts that they'd missed due to being a poor side during the expansion concessions. It didn't quite work out, but they managed to get some really solid players in. In 2015 he managed to swing things around to get rid of cloggers and underperformers like Menzel, Yarran and Bell. They got a future 1st for Henderson. They brought in Plowman through trade, and drafted Curnow, Weitering and McKay who are all going to be really solid players for the future.

In 2016 they brought in Caleb Marchbank and Jarrod Picket through trade for hardly anything bar a future 1st from Geelong. Pickett could have been a great young player if not for injury. Petrevski-Seton and Fisher drafted in, also very promising young players.

They managed to get two first for Gibbs at 29 just before he fell off a cliff. Mitch McGovern for not much, Will Setterfield for not much, Nic Newman for not much.

It's a hard business turning over that mess they had but he's not done an awful job of it.

Imagine being a club that has tried to buy every player this off season, and now with just 2 days to go in trade period have managed to trade out a top 10 pick, yet not trade in one of those players.

With Bruce and Steven due to go out and Hill, Howard, Butler, Jones & Ryder due to come in, I don't see how they get 7 trades done in 2 days.

No wonder the club has 27 wooden spoons.

There is a direct correlation between his intelligence and the length of his d*$k

I reckon that even though they were gifted a lot, they then maximised that as much as possible particularly with an eye to the future.
GWS List management would be at least 9/10 in the seven years free-agency free, whether that was mainly SOS is another matter

Deadset, WTF are all of the list managers doing all day? I'm assuming that they've all been instructed to wait until Wednesday's primetime TV slot to lodge any deals?

Alex Keath and Josh Bruce remain in limbo after a four-way trade proposal was shut down by the Western Bulldogs over the weekend.
Foxfooty.com.au understands Adelaide was the architect behind the arrangement, which fell down when the Dogs refused to slide from Pick 13 to 23 in the draft.

The Swans and Saints gave the Crows their initial tick of approval, but the Dogs rejected the deal.

The trade would have seen St Kilda land Zak Jones but lose Josh Bruce, while Sydney would have gained Pick 28 for Jones.

Had the multi-pronged trade been accepted, it would have unlocked several conundrums around the league and potentially acted as a key domino.

But the Dogs remained adamant Pick 13 is not for sale and resolute in their belief they can land Keath from Adelaide and Bruce from St Kilda while hanging onto the first-round selection.

The proposed four-club deal would have seen the Dogs trade their first three picks — 13, 32 and 51 — to Adelaide for Keath and Picks 23 and 28.

Pick 28 would then make its way from Whitten Oval to Moorabbin to secure Bruce, allowing St Kilda to use it to land Zak Jones from Sydney.

The Dogs have also been locked in talks with Port Adelaide instead of Adelaide as list manager Sam Power seeks to break a deadlock.

The Saints currently hold Picks 12 and 18 and have told rivals they intend to use the latter selection to land Power swingman Dougal Howard — or at least save it for negotiations with Port.

If the Bulldogs can’t make any progress in the next 24 hours, they may look at trading down from 13 to 18 to unlock a series of movements that secures Keath and Bruce. But that relies on St Kilda hanging on to Pick 18, which is no certainty.

The Western Bulldogs currently hold Pick 32 and have offered that to St Kilda for Bruce, but the Saints want a better deal for the contracted spearhead.

Bruce is keen to join the Dogs on a four-year deal after being told he was free to explore his options after Round 23.

Saints coach Brett Ratten has since denied suggestions the club was keen to move him on, but Bruce has told friends he is being pushed out. The Dogs also believe he was told to find a new home, 12 months after some inside Moorabbin looked at ways to move him on.

Jones has nominated the Saints as his preferred destination, while Keath intends to sign a three-year deal (with a trigger for a fourth season) if and when a trade is orchestrated.

THE TRADE PROPOSAL

Sydney Swans —
Receives: Pick 28 | Loses: Zak Jones

St Kilda — Receives: Zak Jones | Loses Josh Bruce

Western Bulldogs — Receives: Alex Keath, Josh Bruce and Pick 23 | Loses: Picks 13, 32 and 51

Adelaide — Receives Picks 13, 32 and 51 | Loses: Picks 23, 28 and Alex Keath

Saints going to be busy in the last 48 hours....5 players have nominated and they haven't made one trade for a player....
Saint Failda, strikes again.
