http://uk.gamespot.com/ps3/action/infamous2/video/6308973/infamous-2-interview-with-nate-foxWe saw [LittleBigPlanet] and that just blew our doors off,” Fox said. “Here they were letting people have the fun of making games, and when we were making inFamous 1 we had this big open world, and we were placing villians and placing traps – it’s fun to do. We wanted to give that to players.
” He added: “The best part about it is that these missions just show up in your gameworld, so while you’re running through the mainline story path you can just decide, ‘I’m going to try one of these UGC missions’ – you don’t need to go to a database online to download it, it just shows up in New Marais. You know they’re going to be good because they’re selected by Sucker Punch.”
Fox went on to explain how the type of UGC missions that show up in the game world can be controlled by the player using filters. This means you can choose only to have those approved by Sucker Punch, open it up to every type of UGC, or limit it by mission type – puzzle- or story-based missions, for example.h
You have been selected to take part in the inFamous 2 User Generated Content Beta Trial.
In inFamous 2 you can create your own missions and upload them for others to play. Design your own challenges, chases, hunts and combat sequences – the only limit to what you can create is your own imagination.
This Beta Trial is exclusive to selected PlayStation®Plus members and is your opportunity to have a go at designing some inFamous 2 missions right now.

You'll likely be able to transfer it to USB, so while it's a bit more of a hassle, just burn it to a disc after transferring it?Err. Just realised the bonus soundtrack is a digital download. Would be nice to have an actual printed disc.
Should be able to but I'm thinking more along the lines of it being "collectible" and being nicer if it was on an actual printed disc, similar to game disc art etc. You'll likely be able to transfer it to USB, so while it's a bit more of a hassle, just burn it to a disc after transferring it?
Sucker Punch has confirmed it’ll launch a demo of inFamous 2, saying a taster is “definitely planned.”
The dev’s Kenneth Schramm says that the demo will launch within a couple of weeks, although when the exact date is remains unknown.
Also, news on how your previous inFAMOUS data will transfer over.Closing Comments
Everything in Infamous 2 is cleverly interconnected. If you neglect side quests, the city will be less safe (making the game more difficult) and you’ll have fewer skills to purchase. Neglecting to collect Blast Shards gives Cole less electricity to work with. Ignoring Dead Drops will keep the story darker and more nebulous. And refusing to work with UGC not only forces you to miss out on easy Trophies but also removes a welcome community feel to Infamous 2 that the original lacked.
Nothing exists in Infamous 2 just because, and that’s something developer Sucker Punch should be commended for. When combined with how well-executed just about everything in the game is, the overall package is one of PlayStation 3’s best and a must-play for fans of the first game. Don’t be deceived by niche subject matter like I was when the original Infamous first came out. This is a rock-solid third-person action game with an incredible story, great characters, meaty gameplay and – above all else – a string that effectively ties everything together.
9.0 Presentation
Infamous 2’s storyline is contingent on having played the original, but it’s a well-delivered tale with two totally different endings. There’s plenty to discover in terms of plot.
8.5 Graphics
The original Infamous was a good-looking game, but Infamous 2 cleans things up considerably. It looks great and runs well, and the animations are fluid.
8.0 Sound
Cole’s original voice actor is missed here, but the new guy does well enough. A great, moody soundtrack compliments a solid roster of voice actors.
8.5 Gameplay
Infamous 2, like its predecessor, is a hell of a third-person action game. The only thing that holds Infamous 2 back are camera issues and lackluster melee mechanics.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
Expect to spend 20 hours beating Infamous 2; twice that much if you want to do everything again. There are myriad collectibles to find, and User Generated Content galore to mess around with.
OVERALL 9.0
When you boot up Infamous 2, you'll see an option that says "import Trophy data." By selecting it, the game will read your online Trophies and give you access to the following perks if you meet the criteria.
- Have good or evil Trophies from Infamous: Start Infamous 2 at level 1 good karma or level 1 evil karma.
- Infamous Trophy for 25 percent of the Blast Shards: Free energy core in Infamous 2.
- Infamous Trophy for 50 percent of the Blast Shards: Two free energy cores.
- Finished Infamous with any karma standing on any difficulty: 1,000 bonus XP for Infamous 2.
- Specific Trophies for Specific Infamous decisions: Reflect side missions, Dead Drops and dialog variety in Infamous 2.
LOL, looks like that hurts! Is that a balcony or just a street level grab?1 week til release.
$79 standard edition @ JB Hifi.
$99 Lenticular special edition. (includes some DLC pre order bonuses)
$189 - Hero edition.
Now that JB have the standard edition so cheap the hero edition seems incredibly expensive (if it didn't seem that way already)
It better give me super powers.
Some people have already played & finished the game. Getting the same amazing praise the first got (few "one of the best single player games I've played" type comments.) So it looks like it will trump the first.
Think I found some wet concrete in the beta. (crap mobile phone pic)

The Good
Varied artistic design brings New Marais to life
Lots of different enemy types
Powerful creation tool
Combat and platforming can still be lots of fun.
The Bad
Laughable morality system
Combat is frequently unbalanced
Uneven pacing.
7/10
I almost think if you didn't know it was a different voice actor, then you wouldn't really feel all that different.Playing the demo at the moment, heap of fun. Feels more fluid then the first one. Graphics are much better, strange to hear Cole's new voice though.
I almost think if you didn't know it was a different voice actor, then you wouldn't really feel all that different.
But yeah, played the demo, was really good. A lot faster than the original. Definitely better looking, the boss you get to fight had a great scale to it. And the smoke effect looks AMAZING.
Cutscenes look infinitely better than inFAMOUS.
Powers are improved, quicker fire rate on your base power, much better glide/flight power, makes parkouring a lot easier.
Another thing, it's still very hard. Maybe even more so this time with the different enemies, one being a rushing enemy that is very hard to fight off with your regular shooting abilities.
