He won't even get that much. Blake Acres was only offered a base contract of 150 K last year by Freo (aside from match payments)

l think I read somewhere he's doing a bachelor of commerce at UNSW.

He's a bit undersized against the gorillas, but I think he'd be a handy pick up for a team like ours with SFA KPP depth, if he was entertaining relocation.

Taylor and him are great mates. Probably the best KPD duo in the comp. Club recruited him from local footy when nobody else showed any interest. His form before his knee injury was excellent and he has come back just as good. Don't see him going anywhere.

I wonder if anybody on a large contract would agree to drop 50k a year to help retain players like Buckley. It happens in American sports sometimes.

Pretty sure the captain has already done this but in AFL they have to extend the contract to do it.

Crazy the way he was treated by Freo. Best 22 for them all year and playing good footy, suddenly only offered a one year deal and traded away for a massive bargain price to your mob of a third rounder. Compare his form to the Freo list's form so far this year and he'd be a top 10 player there easily.
