Are West Coast really that bad? I think they will be.
Freo and Pies one hit wonders?
Port will rebound but how much?
Bulldogs hard to read

s**t I forgot some teams.

1. Geelong - just give them the cup now
2. Richmond - have strengthened their midfield
3. Brisbane - still weak as piss in finals
4. Collingwood - quality side, but reliant on guys like Elliot and De Goey staying fit
5. Melbourne - looking like us in '06. Won't win another flag with that forward line
6. Sydney - think they overachieved last year. Forward line is overly reliant on Buddy
7. Fremantle - similar to Melbourne. Forward line is their Achilles heal. Really promising in every other facet though
8. Port - will come racing out of the blocks, winning 8 of their first 10. Contract extension for Hinkley

9. Carlton - I just don't rate them. Have a handful of absolute guns and not much else
10. Gold Coast - overly reliant on Touk Miller. Their year depends on how Rowell, Anderson and Hollands develop
11. Bulldogs - plenty of quality on their list but other teams seem to be going past them. Gameplan issues or lack of motivation?
12. St Kilda - just a nothing team
13. Essendon - very inconsistent. Should improve if guys like Cox, Perkins and Caldwell take a step forward
14. Adelaide - forward line looks strong, backline has a few too many moving parts, and the midfield lacks speed and class
15. West Coast - entering a rebuild. Should get some decent players back from injury at least
16. GWS - overpaying fading stars, list profile and balance is ****ed. Rebuild time
17. North - won't be as bad as last year. Still in a heavy rebuilding phase.
18. Hawthorn - rebuilding/tanking

Not if Rachele and Rankine run through there.

I reckon we’ll look back on 2022 as a weak year. Geelong’s premiership side is not anything like the truly dominant sides of the past (Hawks, Cats, Brisbane). Their midfield was good but certainly not great. Sydney are fair way off being at their peak but still made the GF. Brisbane and Melbourne couldn’t quite get it done, Collingwood went deep into finals with a mix of old, injured, average and green players.

I'm sticking to the theory that there are usually 3 new finalists & that it's most probable 5th, 6th & 8th drop out.

Tipping Beveridge self-destructs & walks out midseason.

1 team that was outside previous years finals usually makes the top 4, so I'm going for Carlton.

Hawks have far the most inexperienced list looked to beat Roos for the spoon.

Ok teams worth talking about:

Melbourne/Brisbane: Yeah, they're top 4 teams. Melbourne to win it all. Brisbane to capitulate in a home preliminary.

Carlton: AFL scriptwriters like a down on the dumps VIC team to significantly bounce, and Carlton has the talent to make a deep run. Gets bitched slapped in the granny

Saints: Medicore but now has a coach who knows how to extract every drop out of a list. Should rebound for a meek preliminary final exit.

GWS: A team in the bottom 6 usually bounces and they're the best candidate for it. Good amount of talent, and no Leon Cameron who really held that club back.

Geelong: Old team who got their premiership after many failures and an off-season that was more about future-proofing then anything else. Sounds like a premiership hangover coming up. Scrapes into finals though as I think they'll sort their s**t out late.

Dogs: They Suck with a capital s in the minor rounds compared to their list. Should give a team a good scare though in the finals.

Port: In no mans land list wise and they don't have the coaching staff to outperform it.

Richmond: I'm not particularly convinced Martin is going to bounce back to being a star player, and it seems like Richmond needs that to really do anything this year.

Sydney: Spectacular bounce, however were belted in the grand final. Likely coming into a snap back to reality year.

Gold Coast: I'll only believe that the Suns had made finals after that finals series is over.

Adelaide: Should be a tough team to play against, but probably lacks the quality/experience across the board to really do anything significant this year.

West Coast: Should stabilise and a trip to Perth should return to being a dangerous proposition. Still, it's going to be a rough campaign, seeing their list is in a very rough state.

Collingwood: Rode their luck big time in 2022, with an absurd record when the margin was under two goals. Will snap back to reality.

Essendon: This. They'll end up cooking themselves trying to catch up this year.

That’s one out their ladder, put some money on it, you’d make a fortune if it came off

I went decently balls to the wall last year, so you know, got to go risky to get another top 5 placement ;)

And watch as I get screwed over by Collingwood/GWS again.

Not sure Essendon bounce back just yet.
Collingwood are low just on the vibe of them not winning as many close ones - but wont be surprised to see them higher
I actually have Giants finishing well

Carlton, Bulldogs and Adelaide could swap positions

I said last year Ports cliff was coming and I think this year someone pushes them over

*moved Essendon down 1

Why do you have GWS so high? Do you think they’ll be substantially better after losing Taranto and Hopper?
