I'm not sure about that Stiff. Who was the last 19 year old kpp, for either Port or the Crows, to kick 7 in a game in the SANFL in his first year?

Tredrea kicked 7 against the Eagles back in 1997.

Damon White kicked 5 in his 3rd match before breaking his leg in his 4th match.

Thats all I can remember.

Bonnadio is too sluggish for mine. I think he'd get eaten up at AFL level.

And it was a one off. His other games are less than encouraging. In fact, he was dropped to reserves at one stage because his from wasn't up to it.

thats why we have a Rookie list - Matthew Smith last a few years on it

while I understand he hasn't much chance of being retained, Fitness is something that can be forced into someone

Blokes like Gibson (and a lesser extend Bonnadio) don;t grow on trees I reckon Gibson will stay and Bonnandio is a good chance to stay on the Rookie list (I always thought interstate Rookies got a two year contract).

giving them both another full AFL pre-season will help see where they sit

Chad Gibson
Gibson will stay, because we have a dire shortage of KPP forwards.

He's only 19, not even a month older than Richard Douglas. He's currently the 4th youngest player on our senior list.

Yes, he's suffered a lot of soft tissue injuries - but there is hope that these will decrease as his body stops growing and adjusts to its new size.

Luke Jericho
I would truly love to see him delisted, as I don't think he has any chance of making it at the highest level.

However, the language the team used in the press release when they sent him for the shoulder op was the same as that which they used last year when Bode went in for surgery - and he got a 1 year "last chance" contract.

Jonathon Griffin
His fate may well be determined by Meesen's decision to stay or go. Will definitely be retained if Meesen departs, but his future becomes murky if he stays.

John Hinge
Can't see him having a big future at the AFC, but with Hart & Torney both likely retirements in the not too distant future he is likely to be retained.

Adrian Bonnaddio
Kicked a bag of 7 last week, which pretty much doubled his output for the entire season. Haven't seen him play (living as I do in the ACT), but I hadn't read a positive review all year prior to this one-off performance. Gone.

Likely Departures As I See It
Clarke, Hart, Torney all to retire.
Skipworth delisted.
Jericho - delisted (in a perfect world, which this isn't).
Massie, Stevens, Reilly, Meesen - trade bait.

Adelaide need to draft AT LEAST 2xKPP, preferably 3, plus 2x midfielders.

Matthew Smith spent only 1 year on the rookie list. As bad as he has been, he has ALWAYS played well in the SANFL and has been in his clubs best players on regular occasions. Bonaddio hasn't done a thing until the game on the weekend.

I would keep Gibson no doubt but I would be very surprised if Adrian is still around next year. As Drummond said, Weed just about said on 5AA that there is no chance of that happening.
