Need to get a specialised recruiter for first two rounds of the draft and then Hine can draft the next rounds and MSD.

He is great at finding Smokies but record in first 2 rounds is poor outside NGA and father son picks

Wtff why would they delist him over Madgen/Kelly. Has way more future promise.

Really worried about GW wrecking our list.

Stephenson and De Goey could play. He hasn’t had a lot of top ten picks to get credit for, because of Daicos F/S, Moore F/S and Beams and Treloar deals.

Not as sold on the picks in the teens, but the strike rate drops for everybody in that range.

True on few pick but Stephenson was not the right pick for coaching staff we had at the time.

None of the 5 1st and 2nd round picks in 2020 worked, Rantell, McLarty are other 2nd round picks that were failures in recent years.

I would be more concerned about Hine Dawg and his inability to draft quality young talls. His strike rate is not great?

Very surprised, our patience was just starting to bear fruit.

I don’t think he will be rookied either, it seems pretty final.

Perhaps they just didn’t see him overtaking Moore and Dean etc and didn’t have him in that mid size bracket with Murphy and Howe.

Id be worried about his mental state after seeing the condition our list was in and the contracts when he came on board with us. To be concerned about him wrecking the list is a strange call

Madgen wont be around surely. If they see more upside in Kelly than McMahon then its not a massive difference in age/contract

Disappointing that they are giving him the chop with only 1 year as a defender. Hope they do re-rookie him as I thought he was showing quite a bit at the end of the year.
Showed more this year than Kelly has in his whole career. Disappointing move from the club tbh.

Agree Ugene , the kid has some ability , has shown glimpses , another pre season and continuity with maturity kicking in , I believe he has something very solid to offer at senior level down the track , hope they do re rookie him as I sure as heck don’t understand how Kelly is retained ahead of him , then again , the cynic in me says father/sons are given more time , nepotism? I hope not .

100% correct I think Kelly only pulled his finger when he saw McMahon leaving him behind. I the others time,s had come but I think he was worth another season.

Unlucky this kid. Was showing plenty of improved attack on the footy in the second half of the year and COULD have been a swingman if and when his body filled out.

It seems curious as he was recruited as a slow burn type and has been making improvements this year as you would think a project player would. Surely the combo of McMahon and Kelly have a better chance than Kelly and Frampton of yielding one best 22. Are we going quick fix rather than longterm.

Complete shock. On face value what a strange decision by the club.
Have the same feeling today as when the club delisted Jon Ceglar a few years back.

I watched all his VFL games and was very impressed with his kicking, leap and agility. Is still raw and skinny and to be only given 2 years to develop is a harsh considering the lack of fit, available talls on the list.

Good luck to Liam - I hope another AFL picks him up as I think he deserves more opportunity with his talent.

My take is that we've finally become clued in to a talls role being innately physically competitive and thus non-combative, mobile, skinny guys aren't the way to go.

Possibly but the descriptions of Framptoms KPB strengths on the Adel board is he can intercept, is mobile and a good kick but struggles on a lead or manning up and shutting down a player. Sounds the same sort of type as Kelly and McMahon

It would be interesting to know how many success stories are out there for a KPP who didn't feature at senior level within their first two seasons.

Someone like Mitch Lewis taken with the last selection in his draft year managed 2 games in his second season, 12 in his 3rd and yet has only now in his 6th year truly come of age. At the other end of the draft order was a skinny Ben Reid, taken at pick 8, who played 3 games in each of his first two seasons and 2 games in his 3rd. He was part of our premiership winning defence in his 4th year at the club.

While ultimately McMahon may well not have proved good enough, after having his development curtailed because of COVID in his draft year, he spent his first season at the club playing forward in the VFL before the shift to defence this year.

He's hardly been set up for success in the short term on the back of that and to not give him at least 1 more season displays a surprising lack of patience for a young KPP prospect.

I didn't really mean playing tight - that depends on the defensive system. I meant strong contests in the air - no idea where Frampton is in that regard. But McMahon wasn't great.

You could be two players down in your display picture in a couple of weeks. Jinxed it! Go back to the Cox gif
I’m honoured that you have paid that much attention to to my profile pic over the years, anonymous internet person.
