Re: Stewart Crameri done for the season

Always seems to look dangerous when he is around the ball or chasing the ball, I was constantly worried by him on the weekend. Unlucky to the big fella, will be missed.

Re: Stewart Crameri - Scans on shoulder today

Can I be forgiven for saying that "Now is the time for Reimers to step up to the plate and get stuck in big time"

Re: Stewart Crameri - Scans on shoulder today

Carlisle is a backman.

Let it go already.

That's what they used to say about Hurley.

With Pears, hooker, Fletch and Myers i don't see why we can't move Carlisle forward. You certainly would not need a tall defence against either Carlton or St Kilda, even Sydney or North. Just Hurley and Hille won't work. We will need to try and stretch Blues/Saints/Swans down back.

Re: Stewart Crameri - Scans on shoulder today

Carlisle's biggest strength is his marking. Clearly this attribute is an advantage for a forward.

Re: Stewart Crameri - Scans on shoulder today

still gotta kick goals though. Got to admit though, his field kicking is allright.

He kicked a couple last year, didn't he?

Probably, im just saying he needs to be as accurate as can be. Not plonk everything with those buckets of his and miss set shots. Stats have him at 50%. Two goals two.

Know what i mean?

Re: Stewart Crameri - Scans on shoulder today

Carlise was drafted as a key forward/back he could be our jarrad Waite with better hands

Re: Stewart Crameri done for the season

Sorry but that's just not correct.

I dislocted my shoulder playing sport, and it stayed out for about an hour, and yet there was no structural damage.

Admittedly I didn't have to play a game of AFL the following week but Crameri is a hell of a lot more buff than I am so having 2 weeks off may be all he needs in a best case scenario. He will be no buckets Carlisle out there plucking marks overhead left right and centre, but he can still be dangerous.

The obvious risk will be if he does it again, but I am sure the medical staff will do the right thing. Strap 4 inches of tape around it and he will be right to go.
Really, so after they put your shoulder back in you had full range of motion in your shoulder, had maximal strength in all movements and problems hitting the gym with max dumbbell flys, 100% of the stability in the joint you had prior to the injury with no increased risk of future dislocation and could throw a ball pain free as far and as hard as you could the day before? Because your answer of no to any of these questions means there was damage.

Upon assessment of your shoulder the medical professionals may have deemed that there was no fracture, no labral tear, no neural damage, no major ligament or muscle tears, therefore no surgery or significant rehabilitation would be needed and told you there was no structural damage. But at an absolute minimum your joint capsule, ligaments and rotator cuff would have been stretched and in your fortunate case would be fine after your body's own natural healing response.

In response to your Crameri comment, no, best case scenario would have been he played out the game and was fine to play next week. The fact that he is more buff than you is working very much in his favour, as he will have a lot more stability there from his muscle bulk and may get through on that... Still wouldn't mean there was no damage to his shoulder, just means it is minor enough that it can be managed relatively safely.

The very fact you mention that the obvious risk is that he'll do it again alludes to the very obvious fact he inevitably doesn't have the same shoulder he had prior to his injury, and there has been some damage caused. The only question, as I stated, is to the extent of the damage.

Fingers are still crossed its at the minor end of the scale.

Thanks for that analysis (seriously).

I didn't say Crameri would be back to his usual self though, merely that he still may be able to come back and provide an impact.

In my case within 2 weeks I did regain most of the motion in my arm, just with a bit of pain. But like I said I wasn't playing AFL, or even footy 2 weeks after either.

Fingers crossed he is OK.

Oh for fu....

Just once, only once, can we please get a frigging break. I'm not being greedy, I only want one.

Hopefully we can get all of our bad luck out of the way this season and start fresh next year.
