Don't think the use of cisgender here is technically correct. As I understand it, cisgender applies to a person whose gender identity and biological sex at birth align. There may be biologically female players in a women's team that are trans, non-binary etc.The problem here is though, even if she is within the normal brackets of hormones now, she still has a huge advantage over the cisgender women players by having grown up with more testosterone in her system than they had growing up.

It’s as valid a term as transgender.Cisgender is a recently manufactured word to describe 99.5% of people as some sort of unnecessary response to differentiate them from the seemingly now plethora of statistically miniscule gender identities.
What's wrong with the good old male or female as a descriptor? It’s as valid a term as transgender.
It’s the Latin pre-fix used correctly (which is unusual in itself).
Cis - on the side of. Eg. Cisalpine
Trans - on the other side of. Eg. Transalpine
Can’t see why there’s an issue with it, it’s clear language and etymology for a change.

They are still used to denote sex.
We use extra language to delineate all sorts of things, from football levels (AFL, Ammos etc.) to colours (teal, greeny blue etc.).
Why not for something as spectral as gender? How good is variety?
I can understand how you’d struggle with complexity. Not really needed, just another wanky woke term.
I'd like to disagree but that's a fair call.I can understand how you’d struggle with complexity.
Who'll be the first AFL player to come out and openly identify as cisgender?
Not sure which part of that addressed post transition females?Do you have any proof besides some loose first hand observations? Cos science would disagree with you.
