The crows list is super funny.

Smith, Sloane, Walker and Larid are over 30, close to their ends. Curtin and Rachele, while talented, are massive flight risks. Milera falls apart as soon as he touches grass. Fogarty lol. Dawson, Rankine, Thilthorpe, and O'Brien look like the only blokes who could easily play 200+ games for them. The rest of them are suspect.

If justice existed their list management team would be shot into space err given gold stars.

Speaking of the Big Racist, this statement from the Camry Crows yesterday,

"There is no place for it [racist comments] in our society and as a club we strongly condemn the abhorrent and cowardly behaviour"

Hypocritical given the Big Racist was given a new contract last year.

“No place for racist comments”

“No not that guy, he’s a good bloke”

I actually think they should be trying Fog in defence but theyve got so many capable defenders lol. No good mids or forwards though.

He’s way too lazy to play back.

Tex looks like 2020-2021 not 2022-23.He looks slow and cant bend down.If hes not fit he shouldn't be playing.
The worse Crows scenario from here is a new coach and another rebuild.Have to trade,at least 6 of their regular league players.
Still amazed when they went into the GF as red hot favourites vs Richmond. The amount of good players that wanted out of the club. And didnt want to win the flag for the Crows the following season.

Their fans live in this perpetual dream land where every single young player who shows the slightest thing is bound to be a star.

They keep up the charade for ages long after everyone else has realised player x is a spud or bog average and then when they realise they turn on that player like they’re Hitler.

Scholl, hamill gollant, Fogarty, jones , McHenry Schoenberg just the recent examples in a long history. Every one of them put forth as elite young talents by crows fans unwavering in their belief.

Now it’s all about how Soligo and pedlar will become elite mids , rachele and rankine full time mids.

I still remember when Milera was going to become an elite mid for them.

Oh and how they were convinced butts was already/ or destined to become a premier key defender rather than a bog average defender.

If you throw enough darts at the board eventually you will hit a bullseye , a Dangerfield if you will. And then that bullseye will run away from your club as fast as they can.

Fogarty has a snowballs chance in Hell of doing anything at the Crows with their midfield as it is and Walker being in the line up.

He well end up elsewhere and be very good.

Butts is pretty good, michalanney is super.

Fogarty is a capable 2 tall forward. He can’t lead an attack. With Walker all but finished, it will leave leading the attack to a 21 year old lad who (although primed to) is yet to find his feet at AFL level.

Add that to the fact that they don’t have any true 3rd tall option or ruck/fwd of quality (Burgess is a stop gap), I can see them playing nothing but sling shot football with opposition defenders easily zoning off.

This may change when Tilthorpe, Walker and Fogarty play in the same team, but Walker can’t touch his toes and Fogarty lacks hurt factor.

Butts has long been overrated inside Sa.

Has perennially been at the back of the pack if not last for contested marks taken by key defenders.

Most of his stats across the years have matched what Jonas / clurey McKenzie did when fit.

He’s a serviceable (and that’s nothing to sneeze at plenty of times we would have killed for a serviceable key defender) key defender at best.

Zerk-thatcher and esava are already producing very similar and I don’t think either are remotely close to being stars, I would refer to them as more passable or okay. Alir has been miles better than anything butts has ever produced and most of the country forgets Alir exists unless their team is playing port. Alir is probably in the good to very good category.

None of this means butts is s**t, but yeah, when he first emerged the crows fans had him as one of the burgeoning elite key defenders. That has not eventuated.

Their draw was always going to get tougher this year. Remember that Hawthorn, Norths and West Coast accounted for 4 of their 11 wins last year. Barely AFL level teams. And then 6 wins if you include the show downs.

Their double ups this year include Port, Brisbane and Sydney, which I can’t see them winning all of.

Unless something drastic happens, they will be bottom 6.

North & West Coast accounted for 4 out of their 8 wins in 2022.

Butts like most of their defenders is saved by having O’Brien drop back and give support.. and then watching us kick it to O’Brien for 4 quarters
