And this is the only time Scully threatened the goalscorer...an over the back ball to the player's advantage that Scully ran onto in the goal square
Yeah, hard to defend a JTG play like that.

It's abundantly clear that, rightly or wrongly, the coaches rate Milera as having more talent than Nankervis. If you are after selection integrity then Nankervis is next in line and his position is currently held by Milera
The coaching group has 2 choices
Keep Milera and hope he steps up again
Replace Milera with Nankervis - selection integrity
I know which one I would do and I know which one the coaches will do
On Tex I think the '' we will rest him from long flights '' will go out the window
Maybe Draper & Izak share mid / forward roles, rest Tex (I agree it isn't just the travel that is the issue). Bring in Nank and possibly Dowling as a lock down.I'd rest Tex this week and play Curtin in his role. Draper moves to Rachele's role, Nank into the side, Berry (would prefer Bond, as he was very good last year) to sub, although I think Nick's will be definitely considering Murphy - although I believe Murphy is doing more midfield minutes now, and that may sway selectors to look at others.
Nank is more talented than MileraIt's abundantly clear that, rightly or wrongly, the coaches rate Milera as having more talent than Nankervis.
We've previously castigated them for picking Himmelberg ahead of Thilthorpe, when they did so on the basis of form. We can't have our cake and eat it too. Criticising them for selecting the more talented player, despite the lesser player having stronger current form, is hypocrisy writ large.
Scully 10 disposals at 50% disposal efficiency, most of those in non threatening positions and 1 joe the goose goal that Jacob Weitering couldn't have stopped.
I'm not sure I agree with that, and I know for damn certain that the coaches don't agree.Nank is more talented than Milera
Not sure why you bother quoting me just to say the same thing I didIt's abundantly clear that, rightly or wrongly, the coaches rate Milera as having more talent than Nankervis.
And we were wrong??We've previously castigated them for picking Himmelberg ahead of Thilthorpe
Who is who in this scenarioCriticising them for selecting the more talented player, despite the lesser player having stronger current form, is hypocrisy writ large.
Not even close. Milera foot skills are elite!Nank is more talented than Milera
FtfyNot even close. Milera foot skills were elite!
Well current form should be the criteria and really there is no comparison in that regard re Nankervis vs Milera right through the pre-season trials and games Nank has been the superior player, franked by an outstanding B.O.G. in the SANFL on the weekend. We are basically carrying Milera in the hope he regains something like his best can be the only reason surely? It's abundantly clear that, rightly or wrongly, the coaches rate Milera as having more talent than Nankervis.
Resting Tex for a long flight with a 5 day break to come does make good sense to me. You want him primed for the Cats.
They have lost Charlie Ballard for the season too.
No, I read a few different posts on here. I think bigmans might have been one.
Milera gets a good run on here from some. Not sure what Milera did to deserve a spot ahead of Nank in the first place but he hasnt backed that decision up in his 3 games this year, Nank has to come in for him.I'm not sure I agree with that, and I know for damn certain that the coaches don't agree.
Current form was the argument when they selected Himmelberg ahead of Thilthorpe. BF smashed them over it.Well current form should be the criteria and really there is no comparison in that regard re Nankervis vs Milera right through the pre-season trials and games Nank has been the superior player, franked by an outstanding B.O.G. in the SANFL on the weekend. 3 AFL games averaging 13.3 disposals, 0.7 inside 50's, 3 rebound 50's, 227 metres gained....he needs to lift big time.
I beg to differ. It sends the message to our players that we care about player welfare.I get why this is being suggested but I don't like it. Gold Coast are a major challenger this year and we shouldn't be picking and choosing games. I think it sends a poor message to the group that should of been removed over summer.
We're not Geelong, but Tex's situation is VERY similar to Hawkins' - in that he needs to be managed to ensure his aging body can get through the full season.Sure it's a long flight but he is professional AFL footballer. He is also not Tom Hawkins and we are not Geelong.
These 15 metres sideways kicksNot even close. Milera foot skills are elite!
