Why not bring Bond in for a tagging role on Rowell? Bond has the engine, strength and determination. Draper comes in for Rachele and plays forward with some spurts on ball.

What's surprising is that Murray Davis doesn't step in on this sort of stuff.

Nicks is senior coach, notes are being taken but you can't expect him to be overuled by the new hire.

Honestly, this is just an appalling selection. Personally, I cant see the justification in any sense. I would rather use Berry or Schoenberg if we need “AFL experience”. God, even move Milera forward and put Nank into his role, and bring in someone like Taylor or Bond as sub…anyone but Lachlan Friggin Murphy….

This is up there with that selection disaster against North in 2020..ironically on the GC…

Not surprised, but sure am disappointed we've made more excuses to put Murphy back in the side. The guy constantly gets a spot handed back to him when we get hit with an injury regardless of how he or anyone else is actually performing.

Nicks is Pyke V2 in the regard of having little creativity in his selections and wanting to stick with as few numbers as possible.

Seriously the only hope the Crows have got is for Dawson & Soligo to carry the team with super human efforts and the big 3 up forward going ballistic and kicking at least 11 goals, as those tall forwards are the only thing that selected Crows team can trouble that GC team with.

If Gold Coast are remotely serious they should destroy that Crows midfield through just sheer efficiency and have a field day with King on Keane and win by 6+ goals. For mine it shapes up as a repeat of that 2022 match up on the Gold Coast where the Crows got heaps of the ball & won a lot of stats but still got smashed by 43 points.

This would be the biggest upset win since that Carlton game in round 5 last year.

Well in fairness to Pyke, the sides expectations were far superior than Nicks has ever had, probably by 5 places on the ladder. So Nicks should be inventive where as Pyke had finals to get to.

We shouldnt go over rating GC. They smashed the Eagles which any side above 15th should do, and Melbourne are a basketcase and totally cooked. They lost to the Kangaroos, remember that.
