Dare I say it, should Yze seriously consider Meatball as our "super" sub once he gets over his latest hammy. I mean at his best he's still a wonderful player in short bursts with high impact on games. Meatball probably would disagree being the sub however if it's for team first balance moving forward it could work. Just a thought.

He was a burst player at the end and could only impact a handful of passages of play over 4 quarters.

Pickett looked good when he moved into the ruck/midfield but was poor otherwise. There's no permanent spot for him in the middle.

Pickett for me is the best sub player possible

I would happily have him as a permanent sub for the rest of his career

Just thinking of changes for Port - with no idea what their forward line, etc looks like.
Last night was the best I've seen Balta play as a forward. I want to keep him there.
I watched the VFL practice match today and there were some very promising signs.
Miller played very well and with confidence down back - give him his chance down back replacing Young.
Ideally I'd "elevate" El Nour from our VFL list to replace Gibcus likely LTI but we'll have to wait midseason for that.
Bauer didn't play VFL so assume he's not fit yet.
Instead, need Broad to join Miller and Grimes as a KPD and can bring in Brown or Tresize as Gibcus' backline replacement.
To replace Prestia - McAuliffe the most pure midfielder and is looking alright.
Judson Clarke has also definitely put himself into consideration and could replace Mansell or MRJ.

Lefau was looking unstoppable at times and I would like to see how he goes at AFL level. With Balta sometimes rucking and Lynch still needing managed minutes, Lefau still offers something as a target up forward to help with structure. Just that he went off in the second half with what looked like a shoulder injury and didn't return - hopefully nothing serious.
Kosi wouldn't get elevated based on his game - and Ryan still doesn't offer enough forward so is currently a waste of a bench space as a backup ruckman. I'd rather Lefau at this moment.

IN: Miller, Brown, McAuliffe, Clark, great wa
OUT: Young, Gibcus, Prestia, Mansell, MRJ

I know it's not a great way to make your debut being the sub

MJR is used incorrectly IMO. Way to many times last night people were kicking to him as a lead up forward or kicked it on his head.

Hard to be crumbing much either when at times Mansell was the tallest forward down there.

Ross was very impressive.

Midfield was pretty good all night I just think its going to take them time to find the right mixes. Would love to see D Rioli in there for bursts, need that speed!

no issues with the endeavour at all other than a lack of bodylining and a glut of woefully shyte tackling

without the injuries we wouldve beat them and the umps which is way more than i expected from us
