Nice win.

The inability to ice it is what you’d expect with a group of kids who haven’t developed the winning habit.

The backline was huge, and anyone who didn’t want Balta playing can **** off.
Hopper and Taranto ran themselves in to the ground.
It was also good to see a few of our whipping boys do some nice things — MJR and Dow.

The CFL letting us win the free kick count is wheels within wheels, plans within plans. They’re just evil. I’m sure one of you paranoid campaigners will have an explanation.

Watched Hopper have a nice hurl on the ground at the half time break.
Gut running and giving his all.

lot of hate for Sampson Ryan on here. I’m far from convinced on him but I will say that he didn’t get obliterated by Witts, who is one of the most underrated ruckmen in the game, the guy is a beast. Ryan also got to plenty of marking contests to cause a spill or allow one of ours to be third man up and win the contest. No, he didn’t clunk anything which ultimately might be the reason he doesn’t make it but he was getting to the right spots, generally.

He laid a crucial tackle at a centre bounce clearance which earned a free kick and stopped the momentum of the suns charge in the last qtr.

Yes he could have done (a lot) more but he wasn’t the train wreck some on here would have you believe.

Correct. He’s still a fair way off but aside from a couple of howlers at a centre bounce, his ruck work was actually quite good against one of the best rucks in the league.

He definitely has many improvement areas but his ruck work last night was ok.

Definitely need more than that from him though.

Chompers and Purple on the Sunday Footy Show melting over Noah Balta's selection.

A bunch of try-hards on that show trying to imitate the old Channel 7 World of Sport show. They lack the charisma and chemistry that World of Sports had.

I'd bring in McAuliffe next week for MacIntosh, who whilst he tries hard, chases, pressures etc, and has been okay with ball in hand, he is not the future. Maybe MaAuliffe won't be better than Mac, but he is faster, harder, and needs to be played to see if he is part of the future, he sure looks it.

Trainor obviously can't play sub next week, so that's interesting. Both Brown and Banks were good. Short doesn't seem a vital part of the backline, but I have little doubt he will be there. Who would you rather see there, Short or Trainor, it's and interesting one.

Mansell will come in. Green does not deserve the boot, he has been good and apart from last night, his kicking has been very creative. Green would benefit from playing midfield in the VFL, reckon he would get leather poisoning in there. But you know they won't do it.

Ryan, not sure about. He is not long term by any stretch, but his ruckwork against one of the best tap rucks in the league wasn't too bad. He gives Nank a break, and would be better than last night I'd bet.

Sonsie, unlucky, but I would rather have McAuliffe because he is faster and tougher.

Good call. The other outstanding nomination from the plastic surf club has to be Ben King. Or is it Max King? I know it's not Jake King, but I'm a big fan of Freddie King. Anyway, whatever his name was that had his arse handed to him by Noah Balta was certainly worthy of consideration.

A lot of the ball off half back vs Freo. And HBF vs Suns. Started 25 with just Short the small, as Hugo returned Banks moved to half back.
