We were never going to see a massive influx of kids while we can still mathematically make finals. Clarko tends not to give up on seasons , even when they look done and dusted - and technically this one isn't yet. Probably isn't over even if we lose today from a mathematical perspective. 3 changes, one 37, and the other two both over 21, and neither debutants. We'll see some of the under 21 kids later in the season when we really can't make finals. Not many games away now.
And so it should be. Clubs with winning mentalities, even when it may cost a draft spot or two, create winning cultures, from the coach, to the youngest players on the list, to the bootsman.

You compromise on that winning mentality, even by picking a compromised team for a few weeks, you set the club way further back than getting a higher pick will gain. Clarko knows this.

How can you ask a kid to never give up in any situation, if you're out there waving the white flag...

We either turn up or we don't this year the honrable losses are two and far between.
A 30+ blowout or a sneaky upset 5-15points you just never know.

I Defiantly wanna see the midfield improved -structure
-ballmovement
-kicking

Shiels to kelly in a lockdown role will really help us, with Yeo out there mids are a similar pace Sheed,Redden,Shuey.

We should do okay in the middle if we can curve Niknat influence.

We are losing as it is. Playing the old blokes and getting flogged by Fremantle, etc, isn't setting a "winning culture."

Playing the players that actually have a chance of being around in the future isn't going to ruin any semblance of a winning culture. That's not waving the white flag either, it's not as if they would be going out there to deliberately lose.

We did it back in 05/06, and the rest is history.
