Back on topic. How fantastic is it that Vic Park has become a fortress again? A place that makes the opposition team apprehensive about playing there. We keep winning games at the dear old ground, hard, close games (albeit we nearly let yesterday's slip).

All you fans who dont go to the VFL games, you should get around it. Developing a winning culture in the VFL is so important, and Dale Tapping is doing a wonderful job. The Pies fans are loud and proud there, a very convivial atmosphere. Highly recommended (but remember to wear warm clothes:rolleyes:).

Spot on, VP.

With any luck, we'll host a final there again this year and win that too.

Kennedy again with huge numbers. He's too good at this level.

Grundy although getting decent numbers, only the two marks at this level is concerning. Him and witts need to start taking more marks around the ground

It really is such a special place and the atmosphere was excellent on Saturday. Considering our depth, we will always see some good quality youngsters running around. Inner suburban footy is where its at!

I still don't think Kennedy is quite ready for the AFL
He plays really well in the VFL but it doesn't quite translate to afl level - not on a consistent basis.

So you think he is not a AFL Player?

What part of his game does not Translate Magpie Girl

To be fair to Kennedy, half the time it's because he is sub. And the other half, it's because he has a change of role. At VFL level, he is a centre square specialist. At AFL level, he won't be getting time in the middle over Pendles, Adams, Crisp and Swan. He'll be a forward/mid rotation. I think he can excel at the same role Blair or Fasolo are playing at the moment, as either the defensive small half forward/inside mid or as the Elliott compliment small forward. The thing is Blair and Fasolo are playing good footy and earning their spot in the seniors, something you wouldn't have expected at the end of last year. So you don't really have a spot for Kennedy right now, despite Ben clearly showing enough that he would be more than solid at AFL level (IMO).
