Toast Round 2 Rising Star Nom: Ryan Burton GET AROUND HIM!

Uve picked midfielder stats, of course burton and mcgrath aren't going to be anywhere near him with contested possessions, clearances and goals. Burton is beating him convincingly in posessions, kicks, disposal efficiency, intercept possessions, double his marks, 3 times more one percenters, nearly 100 meters gained more per match, 16 more dreamteam points, 13 more SuperCoach points. And even though he's a backmen is only .5 behind him in score involvements. So u could argue either way
Powell- pepper's impact on the game has dwindled the past few weeks. Little cameo performances only. Still doing his bit for the team but is now a foot soldier. Burton has the been the most consistent performing contender the past 2 months. Has been in our best players nearly every week. Imo he is edging ahead of powell pepper every week. He is in the box seat but still could go either way.

RYAN BURTON (Hawthorn): Just as effective as Hardwick was against Betts, Burton blanketed the Crows' other big weapon in Taylor Walker. The Crows' captain kicked two, but Burton kept his involvement to just 12 touches and also snuck forward for two goals himself.

I just watched the highlights, and noticed just before the song, Hodge tapped him on the shoulder and told him in a fairly firm way, "we don't say that". What was that about?
Burton told the photographers to get out of the team circle. "Get 'em out!"

meh, young kid learning from the older and wiser soul. Good leadership, Burton a bit ahead of himself and Hodge reigning him in. Good to see the enthusiasm, even better to see to the teaching/learning.

No, Hodgey wanted him to say: "get the f*ck out".

Burton will learn!

Read somewhere on BigFooty that Hawthorn staff were the ones wanting to get the photographers out and Burton was just trying to help out.

Couldn't really give a s**t what McGrath or anyone else is doing(no offense to anyone).

The thread is about celebrating and enjoying what Burton is doing.

And that is kicking the arse of people like McGrath and Powell Pepper.

So much depends who is on the panel of selectors. I would imaging there are plenty of Hawthorn haters voting here, so to win he will have to be the best by the length og the Flemington straight. Something even Cyril was unable to achieve.

Burton is a legend in the making. Great pick up. Really keen to know what Clarko's long term plan is for him. Could easily be a Bontempelli type through the midfield/forward, or could live a halfback life of luxury for his entire career.
Hodge replacement. Basically super star anywhere he plays.
