Autopsy Round 21, 2025: Hawks can’t get it done against the Crows

They were better when they had the momentum than we were. We can’t go an entire quarter without scoring in a game like this and expect to win.

Day hopefully just a cramp. That second game back can be hard to back up.

I think we showed we’re more than good enough to play finals. We just need to win the rest of our games now.

We just weren’t good enough, and we couldn’t be clean when we needed to be.

Got beaten around the ball, and struggled to win contests forward of the ball.

Need something else in the middle, and needed our KPF’s to take better positioning.

Not much in it in the end. A poor second quarter that really cost us no score at all.

A couple of poor player executions under pressure and a poor performance in the coaches box cost us the 13 points.

Tall forwards didn't fire a shot apart from Gunners, one will be dropped next week.

Worps had the worst quarter and a half I've seen in quite a while, he's playing with zero confidence at the moment.

CMac still not doing it for me, he goes missing for long stretches

Gotta applaud the effort.

It was a 3 goal loss at Adelaide Oval against a crows team in peak form.

The lumpy nature of the game was really weird. To be so hot, and so cold and then hot again.

Lots of almost things where we fumbled great chances.

Proud of the boys - some really good performances there. Not sure what to make of Mitchell's coaching. Had us up for the fight. Got slapped. Found a way to get us back into it. Then a lack of composure in the last cost us the game.

The passive nature of a lot of our players — and our coach — is a massive concern.

Agree, where’s the desire to physically hurt the opposition? We need to recruit a couple of hard nuts.

Blew our chances at the end with some costly misses. And I think that’s almost shut the door to the finals. We’re just not there yet. Tonight cerainly was no disgrace. Adelaide just to classy at home.
Need to beat Dees and one of Lions and Pies. That’s a huge ask.

If we play that way against Collingwood and Brisbane, we win at least one of those. Worpel shouldn't be sub, struggled to adjust to the pace. If we don't play 4 talls again, I think Lewis needs to make way.

2nd and 4th quarters just terrible. This was our game to win and we just ****ed it up. So many chances wasted.

Worpel, Nash and D'Ambrosio were liabilities. Noone had the guts to kick to space and trust their teammates.

This was our chance to get space in the 8. Now we risk missing the 8.

If we didnt learn a huge amount from this game we are done.

Second quarter cost us the game and possibly a finals spot. 30 odd minutes of passive, insipid footy. Thought Mitchell should've gone down to the boundary halfway through that period to give some direction.
A decent fightback but we used up all our tickets. Too many passengers ultimately. On to Collingwood next week with an extra 24 hours to prepare. Hope every Hawks fan that can attend makes the effort to get along
