Do doAfter last night's disappointment, I ventured to Norwood Oval today to see my SANFL club Norwood take on .. guess who? Adelaide Crows. Oh, the joy, I get to see both my clubs lose to the Crows in the same weekend.

Picture this, the game is in the balance, Norwood miss and easy shot at goal, Crows take it down for a goal. Then Norwood misses another simple shot at goal, Crows rebound with a goal. Norwood miss a third shot on goal; Crows immediately score another goal. Sound familiar? I sat there thinking, "I've seen this movie before somewhere".

And anyone who thinks the Crow Throw is extinct; I saw the most amazing throw of all time. A Crows player with one arm held just threw the ball rugby style to a teammate ..... and the umpires allowed it!!!!

Not a good weekend.

Early on in the first quarter we made it difficult for them to exit their defensive 50, until about 3 minutes before the end of the quarter, leading to us gifting them their first goal. I thought we would address that at quarter time, yet we ended up defending further back and let them waltz it out of there for the entire second quarter and smacking us on the scoreboard.

After that it was always going to be an uphill battle.

I think 4 talls could work, maybe just not these 4. I would have liked to see Ramma in as the ruck relief and then drop Lewis or Chol depending on matchups. Dear is the future and needs game time, Gunston is the only tall that looks likely to get into a scoring position consistently this year.

Was at the game last night and our boys played hard and tough - the 2nd quarter hurt big time.
Hoping we make finals but if we dont, then look to next year and we will need more fire-power. Butters is someone who we could really do with, and probably 1 more midfielder (Walsh perhaps).
Look at the Lions - they have 8 to 10 players that can roll thru the midfield. We dont have that yet

So how on earth did we kick 5 unanswered goals…..twice…. throughout the night??

The absolutism on here is so many posters is mind boggling.

Apparently there’s no such thing as a game where the majority of what we hoped would work did work for majority of the game, yet we didn’t end up winning.

If we lose, then everything didn’t work - correct?

If we win, then everything worked brilliantly then?

Seems that way on here.

No shades of grey.
From a general perspective over four quarters, it didn’t work. The spacing and synergy. You can easily say goals came from pure talent which a lot of the first qtr were. It’s the structure mainly my point was.

If/when Worpel comes back this year bring him in for Amon.

Amon is a decent kick but when he doesn’t have the ball he is a liability and we can’t have a liability especially in the back half.

lol I meant Weddle not Worpel

Yes, he is gone for the season and might not get back for the start of the pre-season. Bad news.

We should boycott 7 Adelaide and ban them from press conferences over this. And the entire Channel 7 network should be banned until that woman is fired. Deplorable, and then they even post it after that embarrassment.
Nah. I live in Adelaide, I've just learned to block out any news coverage of Crows and Port, it's childish and not worth even thinking about.

Yeah it was shit "journalism" but besides being an amatuer hour attempt to bait Ginni I really don't think it was that big a deal, certainly not something that we should be chucking a hissy fit over and demanding someone loses their job.

Having to work for 7 Adelaide is punishment enough.

On a positive note how bloody good was Gunners first goal in this game where he attacked the ball at full tilt, gathered it from a bounce in one hand and then wheeled around to his right to snap it truely?

Not many players in the league would have the skill and coordination to pull that off.

Be a great moment this weekend when he kicks his 50th goal of the season, what an amazing achievement by "Uncle Jack"

Have definitely noticed that his body control is approaching NFL wide receiver type levels this year.

Whatever was going on through his time pre/in Brisbane and to a slightly lesser extent last year is all but fixed. Pretty remarkable that he's back like he is.

Massimo was a hair away from putting in one of the games of a the season, a break out game to being one of the elite players. He still played a great game but I reckon he would be kicking himself.

The exciting news is his only 22, still improving and it looks like another level is emerging
