Scott Pendlebury - Standing in the game?

But Dustin Martins would win you at least 3 flags each. So your team of Dustin martins wins 66 flags. Teams of Pendleburys or Selwoods wouldn't get near that. :)

2 flags. Surely you are not counting the most tainted flag in history ‘The COVID Cup’. May as well have won the Escort Cup or Panasonic Cup.

Pendlebury won the '11 NAB cup, similar shortened format to the COVID cup. Both he and Martin have 2 legit flags and 1 mickey mouse cup.

A team of 22 Martins would have to make the GF first

I actually rate the 2011 NAB Cup ahead of the Covid Cup. At least the games went for the standard length of time, there were no constraints on venues or crowd numbers...

Pies probably played more games to win the NAB Cup in 2011 too.

Disagree with the notion that he's slowed down a bit. The way I see it he is the same pace as he's always been which has never been quick but it turns out you don't need all that much pace if you have a footy IQ and a level of poise that's completely off the charts.

I've seen a few players be better at their peak, but I'm not sure I've seen any with the same consistency
From my club Sam Mitchell had the same consistency, with Buddy pretty close if you consider being as consistent as a KPF is probably a bit harder.

Get back on topic this is meant to be about Dustin Martin and how he has played a few good finals games, not about consistency.

If Martin fans want to cherry pick the few good finals games he played compared to Pendlebury, how come they are not mentioning the only final he has played against Pendlebury?

Here it is, played on 21/09/2018:
Pendlebury 24 possessions, 15 contested, 8 clearances, 4 tackles, 0 goals.
Martin 19 possessions, 8 contested, 0 clearances, 1 tackle, 0 goals.

Pies are the only team to win a flag since the licence for a 19th team has been awarded.

Only flags you have won since 1958 have been when new licences were granted so that is the only time your club has any chance to win one. 3 asterisk flags. At any normal times without the uncertainty around new startups Collingwood is 0 **** from 60 odd years. So that is what you are now facing 60 years of flag free living. If you are lucky you will die before then and not have to endure the whole period. ;)

Awww someone is hurting. I guess it is expected when you have such a long Premiership drought:

I don't know if I have ever read something as dumb as the above since I began reading BF. What is your inspiration, the movie 'Dumb and Dumber'?

The demise of the Tigers in the last few years is heavy on your soul.

I see, I see. Very interesting stats, this should get the Richmond stat obsessed fans in this thread something to mull over. There is now no denying that Pendles > Martin in a pure head to head finals game. Damn he's good.

Been a great player but well and truly cooked. Gone one season too long and should have retired after last years flag

The lure of 400 was too great to retire, but yeah he should have stepped down last year.
Won a premiership and was brilliant in the last quarter of that game, would have been a great way to go out.
Looks a shadow of his former self now.
