I am super excited for 1 potential match-up this showdown. And its a match-up I didn't see coming at the start of the year!
CEY vs SPP: The Battle of the Acronym's! 2 bulldozing midfield bulls with big bodies and chips on their shoulders. Set them against each other and wait for the fireworks!
Think that could be an epic battle!
Hahahah! YES!Whoever plays worse should forfeit their right to a hyphen until the next showdown.

CEY: 189cm, 91kg
SPP. 187cm, 91kg
Think this could be a good old fashioned ding dong battle!
Probably not, I know Port like to send SPP to MCrouch in an effort to get him off his game. Which is another reason why I'd like to see us send someone to SPP. The kids playing well, but has certainly never played with a run with before. And he doesn't strike me as the type to be able to work through that kind of attention yet. Will they stand each other?
I tend to think CEY may go to Boak.
RoB may end on SPP, with Greenwood on him at stoppages. Watch the way we used RoB defensively on Fyfe last week.

That is why I reckon RoB could be good on SPP. Nullify his physicality/size and keep him accountable.Probably not, I know Port like to send SPP to MCrouch in an effort to get him off his game. And if you neutralize SPP from a midfield missing Wines, you are essentially asking Boak to win the majority of the contested ball by himself against both Crouch's, Greenwood or Sloane (god knows Rockliff isn't going to do it).
Boak will likely get a bunch of in contested touches as a result, but to me that might be ok, and i'd prefer him scrapping his possessions in tight then out on the end of hard balls won by SPP and Wines.
We should play all the games in VIictoria.
The problem is SPP does some of his best bullocking work in the stoppages when ROB will be in the ruck. We would need to go in with a better strategy then that if we were gonna be playing tight on him! That is why I reckon RoB could be good on SPP. Nullify his physicality/size and keep him accountable.
SPP likes to go to MCrouch as MCrouch us poor defensively.

Last time I saw Kane Farrell he appeared in a Showdown to kick 3 goals in a quarter - haven’t heard of him since.
Now I see he’s fronting up to tomorrow for another crack at the Sam Kerridge medal
I think we will be safe this week, the Sam Kerridge medalist is like lightning, it never strikes in the same place twice
Didn't Fyfe get 32 possessions, 19 of which contested, 7 clearances, 5 inside 50's and going at nearly 80%DE?CEY or Greenwodd then switch to him when RoB Rucks.
We.did it last week against Fyfe. Can see it working on SPP this week.
Sloaney was actually on Lobb for a lot of the game defensively.

Would have finished 9th and played finals due to Essendon's suspension.I still havent recovered from Monfries goal to win the Showdown at Footy Park that turned right angles instead of going for a behind.
