2. van Berlo - one of very few guys to stand up in a pressure game. Good signs from a young gun.
1. Dougie - servicable first game. Didn't do heaps, but showed a bit of class and dash here and there. Some great tackles from a skinny lad too. Absolute joke that he wasn't given a free for that blatant throw by Salopek.

No VB?

Gosh...

It was a good game for him but it came down between him Macca and the Pez dispenser and I think if one of the aforementioned was missing the game we would of lost by a hell of a lot more then if VB missed the game.

Perrie? van Berlo even kicked two more goals than him. If it wasnt for vBs momentum changing goal in the second we may have been thrashed.

Not too many players would be proud of their game today from quarter time onwards, after which we went from chocolates to boiled lollies.

POTY

5. Edwards - Honestly, he must have had a gutful of some of the poor efforts around him in the past 5 weeks while he keeps busting his boiler. another great game from him today.

4. Bode - knee high to a grass-hopper and easiloy our best forward today. If only he could kick a little starighter. Good game though.

3. Clarke - to all the Clarke knockers, he has stuck it up you big time in recent weeks. and today was no exception. When he was in ruck we looked dangerous. When he went off the ground, our on-ballers were insipid.

2. van Berlo - top game from the future captain of the club today. Embarrassed some of his more highly regarded team-mates with an example of how THEY should have played.

1. Shirley - stood one of the top ten players in the comp in Burgoyne and restricted him to only a useful game. More than paid his way today.

Best Team Man

1. Douglas - very happy with his debut. Showed us glimpses that say he will be a top player for us in the years to come as his body matures.

Player of the Year

5. Tyson Edwards -
Our best midfielder who keeps giving it his all. Pitty some of his team mates are not taking a leaf out of his book.

4. Matthew Bode - Another great game by a Bodster. Sure he missed some shots on goal but fact reamins that he is possibly the only forward that gets into positions to score. If everyone was putting in and playing as well as this bloke, we would be MUCH better off.

3. Matthew Clarke - Oh he is **** and useless . Doc keeps on proving his critics wrong. Sensational for 3 weeks running. He is playing an inspired football. Giving his all but once again, no one is following.

2. Robert Shirley - Keeps sticking it up those poor, misguided souls ;)

1. Nathan Van Berlo - Best game of his career. This kid has courage and will to succeed. He never gives up. Plays a lot of different roles and does them all well. Even snuch forward to kick a couple of goals. Will be a leader of the club down the track.

Best Team Man

3. Robert Shirley -
Kept Shaun out of the game and did some exceptional inside work himself.

2. Matthew Bode - See above

1. Ian Perrie - For a first game back he was good. His inclusion has given us some structure and he presented well. Ran out of gas in the second half but encouraging return to AFL football.

Rookie

2. Nathan Van Berlo -

1. Richard Douglas - Very happy with his first game. Has that special X factor in congested situations, big kick for one so slight, and nice blend of aggression. Laid some good tackled and I liked the way he played on Mahoney for a while. He will be one of our best midfielders down the track.

I hate voting for this, so I won't.

Rookie:
2: Van Berlo. See above.
1: Douglas, was super impressed again by this kid, I say give him 3/4's and see what happens. Liked him winning a contested ball against a much bigger opponent and his tackling and sheparding were good. Was dissapointed he gave away that free because I hate that ruling so damn much. To lay a tackle in that situation he would have had to pick him up or not touch him, he couldn't win.

5 – Clarke – inspirational stuff from the big fella – How good was that mark in the centre when the ball went 50 metres up in the air. We suffrered when Biglands went into ruck – Hudson back for next week.
4 – Bode – worked his guts out again. Yes problems with his kicking but we will have to live with that as he never gives up the little fella.
3 – Van Berlo – loved his game, he is going to be a terrific player for us.
2- Shirley – worked very hard and got some telling posessions and his defensive work was good.
1 – Edwards – Mr Reliable
Team Man
3 Bassett – courage personified. Brett took the easy and cheap option.
2 Bode
1 Shirley
Rookie
2 Van Berlo
1 Douglas – very promising debut. Real shame his first kick hit the post.
