There is no good or legitimate reason to be keeping Tsatas out of the side. Parish needs to be dropped. He can shirk contests and ball watch in the VFL.

Very hard to change culture. Players who have been there a while just disillusioned. Workplaces can get like that. There’s a bit of money out there on the park week in week out and that’s the ROI. Not blaming the newbies but they will learn bad habits fast.

Farrow in for Redman, drop Roberts behind the ball at the expense of Prior (who doesn't do anything wrong, but he's just 'there'), bring in Tsatas for Parish because why not at this point

But that would mean we have kon, Nguyen Johnson and farrow amongst the back 6/7. Not much experience there.

Tsatas is ready even though he didn’t have a great game at vfl level.

Could parish play up forward for us and have an impact

Langford is cooked. Could he help out down back? Or is jones body ready to replace him.

I can't believe we have such a large group is senior players who are cooked or your standard list clogger.

Parish, Langford, Wright, Fiorini, Prior, Duursma.

Cupboard is so bare underneath that we might find it hard to keep any game under 10 goals.

I didn't expect the W today, but FMD, the way we go about losing is embarrassing. Should have been a 100 point loss, but Port lost interest in that last qtr.

Brad will be gone by ANZAC day, Solly to step in, bottom of the ladder with pick 1 at the end of the season. A pick which we will no doubt heck up and ruin another draftees career.

How can we go so far backwards from last year which was shocking to begin with, half the team looks lost, shot on confidence... We arguably have the worst ruck division, midfield, forward line and defence in the AFL. Even when a team is struggling usually there is a shining light or some kind of strength to work from... I can't think of one area on the field the bombers have an advantage. If there is no progress or change we are looking at a wooden spoon this year. I think the footy world is starting to all agree with Merrett who clearly saw the writing on the wall.

I'm really bamboozled by how we can have so many fundamental and systemic problems at this level. The same issues just seem to be getting worse.

Some standout moments for individuals, but a lack effort from all players overall. So many times you see contested marks at both ends with Essendon players standing around outside the pack flatfooted, while the opposition just competes with themselves for the mark.

Who can say what is happening with our defensive system? Doesn't appear to be any zoning, and certainly no individual guarding - just Bombers jogging around aimlessly like it's under 13's.

Either the coaching system is utter rubbish, the players are just not executing, or it’s a combo of both, but it's really demoralising to think how much work has to be done to bring the team back from this.

Duursma bit harsh to be grouped here. Had an average game but has been a solid recruit.

Hate to break it to you, but the two best players in this class are Walker (tied to Carlton) and Cochrane (tied to Port). So we'll get a spoon and pick 3 for our troubles.

The issue is the senior players just going through the motions and not leading. It’s f’n disgraceful. It’s why a team like Richmond will turn their club around so quickly with strong leaders like nank, short, broad, vlaustin etc giving 100% every week. When we have guys like wright and parish who do not give a stuff and just roll out each week and do the bare minimum

This kind of ineptitude has to be planned and cultivated. Is the club intent on permanently taking the p*ss out of its fan base or is this part of an insider AFL plot to get back to an 18 team competition ?

Easy enough to find a few replacements in the VFL

Redman > Farrow an obvious one
Can swap out Langford for May or McMahon
Tsatsas for a midfielder
Potentially Visintini if we want to add another Ruck for more contested marking

These new afl rules have really exposed us as a club, you literally have to be disciplined defensively and have a shape out of position. Otherwise you’re gonna get destroyed like we’ve seen the last few games, even clubs like west coast will destroy us with the way we play football, we really need a new coach because things are gonna get way worse than it gets any better, we don’t create chances and we can’t defend, we are 100% finishing bottom 2, just wether we cba string more wins than west coast.

Nice comments from you towards my Tigers, and yes those blokes are still having a red hot go. I just can’t comprehend why your club didn’t let Merrett go. Welsh in all his bravado has made one of the worst footballing decisions of all time. Merrett, as captain, didn’t just think about leaving, he desperately wanted to go! He even aired dirty laundry. It’s cost you another year of a disinterested player and no doubt destroyed the culture of the club further. Not to mention if he goes at the end of this year the picks in return will be nowhere as good. And heaven forbid if he gets a major injury. Caddy goes well and I’d love Durham back (should’ve been captain, pigeon is a bush footy player).

Didn’t get to watch the game but the kick to handball ratio was all I needed to see to know the result. Poor workrate aside the game plan is just not good enough and it honestly starts there.
