And then you wait 3 years and hope 3 out of the 5 are nearly as good as Tippa, Raz and Draper. So 1st for Tippa, 1st for Raz, 2nd for Draper.
5 picks inside 35... YOUFFFFFF!!!!

Don’t worry, we’ll burn them on the outside.Martin confounds me.
It would signal complete and utter denial about the list and the brand.
We're not bringing him here and paying him to work his way through the twos.
So we're really just adding one more weak player in the way of Ridley, Laverde and Begley.
I wonder how that will hold up against the Dogs next year.
Langford is not in the first few rotations of midfielders, is he?
Clarke is our best inside mid.
Zac Smith at Geelong as a cheapy?
He is I think. He’d be gettable and can play. Sits behind Blicavs and Stanley. Is he fit? Barely been sighted this year
The solid game from BZT, probably means that Hartley is not needed as backup any longer (yet another nail). Hartley is a good player, so hopefully, he finds an opportunity somewhere.I liked the look of Ham and Zerk-Thatcher last night. Both look promising. Good to see our kids getting a go!
Felt the 2015 crew really lifted this year
Parish is tracking nicely to be a gun inside mid
Francis got some great continuity leading into the end of the season and is a spoiling machine.
Redman is great. Hard nut defender who can push through the middle. His disposal is tidy too
Add to that Brown and Smack have been critical with Daniher out.
2020 - the year the 2016 crew explode?
McGrath inside middle
Ridley outside winger
Begley 3rd tall/PT big body onballer
Mutch - ? what can he be? New Zaka? Ham looks to be getting close to regular footy
Draper could make his debut too.
AgreeBegley needs to be playing midfield. Along with Laverde. That should be the focus of their preseasons. We don’t need two undersized key forwards sitting in F50.
On what planet would David Myers receive a new AFL contract for beyond 2019?Myers is quite clearly at the stage now where he’s comfortable enough with being depth anyway so as long as his next contract reflects that I’m happy enough for him to stay, could even be an option to place him on the rookie list next year.
Ideally you’d be looking around for someone with finals experience with a little bit more versatility in his game to fill that slot though.

We need to be getting rid of players like him, not keeping them around the club.
He's finished as an AFL footballer.

Picture this, Dea, Long and McNiece get delisted. Hartley potentially finds another home and Zlarke is either retained or a similar replacement is found.
Baguley and Myers are not offered new deals and elect to retire.
We hit 2020 and our tried and tested depth (with absolutely everyone available) outside the best 22 consists of what?
Stewart, probably Brown, who ever the odd men out are of Laverde and Langford, and then kids with less than 10 games under their belts.
It wouldn’t be the worst thing because it would force us to actually play the kids and invest but you can essentially put a line through competing next year if that is the case, that list profile doesn’t stack up over the course of a year.
Assuming all are fit outside Draper
Best 22
Francis Hooker Ambrose
Saad Hurley McKenna
Smith Heppell Merrett
Langford Daniher Tippa
Fantasia McKernan Stringer
TBC Parish Shiel
Clarke Redman McGrath Ridley
Depth comes from Laverde, Brown, Gleeson, Guelfi, Stewart, Begley, Zerk, Ham, Zaka, Snelling
And the likes of Mynott, Moz, Mutch & Jok who have very limited exposure
Plus Draper, who you would think would be lucky to get back and get exposure enough to play AFL in 2020.
We need 5 ins
1 - Ruck (Ryder, Jacobs if it's a short term fix)
2 - Ball winning mid (Willem Drew, Zak Jones?)
3 - Outside elite runner
4 - project tall.
5 - i believe there is an irish kid we're chasing and have largely convinced.
