Nathan van Berlo is the only confirmed inclusion for Adelaide’s sold out Balfours Showdown clash with Port at AAMI Stadium on Sunday evening.
van Berlo, who withdrew from the St Kilda game through illness, has been named on a wing in the 25-man squad, replacing David Mackay (hamstring strain).
Robert Shirley, Taylor Walker and Phil Davis have also been included in the 25, to be reduced to 22 tomorrow afternoon.
Adelaide trains at AAMI Stadium on Saturday from 10am. This is an open session.

Walker back in the side!

Wonder if it will come down to a choice between Davis and Walker?

Very hard bench to judge, for a change. You'd think Martin is the most likely, and probably Sellar. I'm not sure past that.

Good to see Phily and Wacky in. One of them will play, surely since we wouldn't name two tall emergencies..would we?

In my opinion it would be Davis, Burton, Sellar, Martin bench.

Walker wont play
Douglas shouldnt play
then there is a fight between Shirley, Davis and Stevens (apparently a little sore) for the last 2 spots in the team

Will be interesting to see if Shirley comes in for Martin. Would be pretty dissapointing if he does after Martins efforts.

They honestly couldn't drop Martin this week, unless there's an injury problem. He was in our best handfull last week.

Only thing with Walker is he didn't play last week and the week before both he and his team had a shocker.

Whereas Phil Davis has been consistently an emergency and dominated the last few weeks, in particular last week where he picked up 31 touches.

Remember Neil has said he wants to give certain players a few games this year, as it helped Otten and Dangerfield immensely in the transition from last year to this year.

Considering last time we played Port Adelaide we got smashed in the clearances, without Tyson Edwards one would expect Shirley to come in to help in that area.

At this stage Phil Davis is named for North Adelaide but that can change after training tomorrow.

Is this how the team was named? Normally the bench is in alphabetical order.

At the moment my guess for the interchange is:

I: Shirley, Burton, Sellar and Martin

If Stevens doesn't come up, I'd expect Davis to come in as he has the versatility that Stevens has, compared to Walker, who is solely a forward. Will be interesting though

Stevens named at CHF. The talk was that Davis would be his replacement if he didn't pass the fitness test. My guess is that Davis will be named as one of the emergencies once the list is cut from 25 to 22, but he will be on notice should Stevens not come up to scratch.

You'd think Pizza Boy would miss out, having been disappointing last week.

Conversely, you'd hope that Martin would get a second game, having done little wrong on debut. Sellar retains his position as the backup ruckman.

Thus it comes down to a decision between Shirley, Walker & Burton, with one to miss out. I'd suggest that one of Walker & Burton to miss, can't say I'll be upset or disappointed whichever way it goes as neither have screamed "pick me" in recent times.
