The only difference between original and new is the new one has some cheese spread in it.

I tried some on the weekend and didn't mind it TBH.

they are not trying to replace the original its just a new product, so take a chill pill..

i think it might pick up a few more new international fans (read yanks), but not many.... i imagine the vegemite taste/flavour would still overpower the cream cheese

to enjoy the original as an adult, you have to have been a young lad in Australia growing up on it

Ohhh I thought you meant the changes they made to the original vegimite... who cares about this new one its a different product. If you like the original vegimite then buy that one instead..?

Its edible but it has nothing on the original imo. Just seems to have less taste to me, and nothing else besides a very dubious colour.

I tried it the other day and thought it wasn't too bad. The original Vegemite is much better, though.

Original vegemite goes hand in hand with melted butter on toast. Can't imagine just spreading it onto some toast without the butter , won't be the same!

yeh I only bought some of the new stuff cause I was ****ing sick of spending 5 mins destroying my toast every morning trying to get rock hard butter to spread on it.

Goes alright, nothing beats original with butter on toast but yeah it's not bad. Probably won't buy it again though.

The new one doesn't work on toast. Nowhere near the original.

However, if you spread it on some cheese rolls it works like a bloody beauty

Also, to TassieSaint, keep your butter out of the fridge and it will spread oh so easy. Doesn't go off.

they should add the flavour of margarine and salt and vinegar chips into it.

heck add bread to the mix as well, then you could just eat it from the jar.

Nowhere near as much flavour with the new stuff... sticking to the original. The new one you need to spread 1/4 of the jar onto bread to get a good strong taste.

As for the new vegemite, I've eaten a couple of sample packs that came with little savoury crackers. I reckon it was alright but I doubt I'd buy and not sure it would be so good on toast (and I'm not a 'cheese and vegemite' fan).

All its tastes like if butter and vegemite mixed together, doesn't taste anything like cheese to me.
