If the ball came down a little cleaner that dockers forward line would be sensational. But otherwise it struggles.

lets face it, collingwoods defense is not flash this year and it did pretty well last week.

Freo is not the best forward line going around. Simply put, as good as Tarrant once was, he has not played good football since 2003. I have always liked Tarrant and hope he gets back to some of his best.


Mcpharlin looked good up there last week, but he is best suited to defense and possibly swinging forward. Pav is a CHF, you would not want to leave him in the goalsquare. Possibly a 3rd lead up would be handy. Everyone you named in that forward line is best up the ground. Farmer is the designated crumber...but im sorry he is just far too inconsistent.


No doubt a top 5 forward line, but it cant be named the best until it fires, and it hasnt in over a year

take out lucas now for half a year and put in Johns and it doesnt look as flash. Bombers would be looking for a speedy recovery from Gumbleton and Neagle to get into the side.

That Fremantle forward line is very average.

Hawthorn, Essendon and Geelong all clearly have better forward lines than Freo.

Fremantles forward line is far too inconsistent (apart from Pavlich) to be recognized as one of the best.

What about hawthorns?

much more consistant and with just as much, if not more raw talent.

Gotta agree the above is pretty damn awesome. Chapman and Johnson cause major headaches consistently. Don't think Ablett spends as much time up forward these days... But someone else with class probably starts there and swaps with him.

Hawthorn is the next best. Saints a close third (maybe bias)... But apparently not.

Brisbane, Essendon (gonna drop off now tho maybe) and Freo following.

166 goals vs 175 in 2007. Granted you can expect more games and more goals from Farmer in 2008, but outside of he and Pavlich, it looks pretty average.

Franklin, consistent? Remains to be seen.
Rioli has played one game.
Dew has played one game in a long time.
Williams hasn't played with this setup that much at all, remains to be seen how effective he is in it.
Roughead is decent, but nothing amazing.
Boyle is still rated mostly on potential.

Don't get me wrong, the Hawks are potentialy great. But you can't rate them as one of the top forward lines yet, they need to show they can deliver consistently on their promise first.
