Let's not put a line through JKH yet. He's in his second year and has earned the chance to prove himself over the next 2 years at least.

A Melbourne supporter and a mod and you don't seem to get how this board works.

20 years old, down on form and not an All-Australian contender? Frank off this second...

As in pressure acts.

Definitely not put a line through him - he's had a tough year with injury, but to play as a small forward he needs to be pressuring.

I dont think they have him marked as a small forward. I think they want him to be a running, high half forward who can go through the middle as well.

He has a huge work ethic for training, so I reckon that will buy him some more time if he needs it. Pretty sure he'll be around for another couple of pre-seasons, even if he is quiet again next year.

I doubt he'll be quiet again next year - rate him.

His main problem right now is that he goes missing for long periods of the game. I'd say that's one of the easier issues to fix; probably just to do with getting used to the pace of AFL etc.

Me too, I see him as a better midfielder than small forward
He has good hands in close and has clean possesion, I see him as a young Nev

Aaron Davey 2.0? Obviously without the suffocation and disrespect from someone like Neeld. Start as a small forward and slowly move up to and behind the ball to use his pace to break lines.

Davey had the Elite kicking too. Should have played on we could have used his kicking still. Miss the Flash

JKH needs an extended run in the seniors to pick up the tempo and gain a little composure. He's not flash quick, but he's far from slow.

He's just used to being able to burn off opponents at TAC/VFL level.

Seen a fair few plodders run him down when he was in a paddock. Far from not slow too :$

No offence fellas, but does he have to be exclusively compared to aboriginal players?

If he's a midfielder with good hands in close, he's not Neville Jetta. The Davey comparison started well until you remember that Kennedy-Harris isn't quick.

If he wants to make it, he should follow Viney's lead close to home and get an appetite for the contest. The rest should take care of itself, because he clearly has talent and apparently has a decent work rate - but he can't rely on a few pieces of (often not so) flashy play a game to make it at any level.

Six touches at VFL level is genuinely concerning, to be honest. Hopefully it's just a bad case of second year blues.

Jetta's a good one in that people (commentators especially) think he's fast because he's aboriginal. JKH can cover the first few steps quickly but he's got a bog average top gear.

Maybe some time in the back pocket at Casey would improve his defensive accountability?

Is that lack of awareness though?
Not sure, could potentially be a lack of awareness of his own abilities? At under age level he would beat people with his TURN of pace and agility more than his speed. I think the whole "aboriginals all have silky skills and elite pace" misnomer as Jack London eluded to does him a bit of a disservice. Real thing that hurts him is his inability to really get into a game for the full 4 quarters or misreading the play when he is involved (as a fair few of our younger blokes are struggling with right now.) Hopefully it all clicks for him sooner rather than later, don't see us holding onto him super long term with his lack of size if he can't sort the issues out.

If I'm Jack Fitzpatrick I'm walking at seasons end. There's five games remaining this season and Roos has already flagged there won't be any changes this week. That leaves four possible games left for him to get a crack at AFL this season. He is going to win the Casey B and F in a canter yet hasn't been selected at AFL level despite Chris Dawes' atrocious 'form'. We will lose him and mark my words he will be our next SME. He's very quick and is an elite mark, what sides aren't looking for a 200cm player like that?!
It's been great that JT is consistently bringing in guns but you don't want them walking out the door at the other end of the room either. He should have been given a dozen games this year.
