Seems like your arguing between a snail and a turtle
Not really. Your point is he shouldn't get games because of his lack of speed, if he's faster than blokes getting games, then it's a valid argument
All this off two games after two years off. Strange you'd make such firm judgements and get so defensive of them
If you were actually interested in learning about Trengoves form and game (as you pointed out you asked a question), you think you'd be open to hearing about him...

Problem for Trenners is a bunch of guys have come in and are now ahead of him (Tyson, Oliver, Gus, Trac).
That will be his main issue. He's having to start from scratch, while those guys have built something (I see him as a different player to Oliver though)

I see Trengove competing for a spot on the list with Michie. Don't think we can carry both and if we pick up Hibberd with Melksham already coming in, I don't think the future bodes well for either of them

Trengove has to make it as an undersized half-forward with his great overhead marking or a half back flank with his tackling pressure and reliable disposal, IMO. Otherwise he's cooked.

Agreed. He rotates a bit at the scorps.

If Melbourne somehow don't manage to make the finals ;), which players will be able to play finals for the Scorps?
They require to have played 6 VFL games as far as I know

Nek minnut, three quarters of the available Melbourne listed players are pulled early for post season surgery...
I actually think ... or I'm at least hopeful, that those eligible will be allowed to play. There is a lot to be said for building a winning culture from the reserves up. Finals footy at any level is good experience, particularly for the types who will be in line to play.

Has Brayshaw made the cut?

Gonna be a very strong VFL side for the finals
He's on 5 currently

They also can't have played over a certain amount of AFL games.
You sure? Couldn't find anything saying that. They just have to have played a minimum number of VFL games, must not have been injured for 10 weeks.

Interested to hear who is getting games in the midfield now that's slower than Trengove? Oliver, Viney, Jones, Tyson Brayshaw all have him well covered. Gawn?
Trengove is quicker than oliver and brayshaw, probably jones currently too (Jones isn't overly quick)

Apparently the last few years it hasn't been the case, Melbourne have stuffed casey the last few seasons from memory.

Agreed, winning a grand final at any level Is a memorable experience and can help form a life bond with some younger blokes

Even Pederson has him covered ...
I cant think of anyone

The missus does Melbourne's training, maybe take my word he's not the slowest mid ;)

Guess it depends what distance we are talking over , my main concern is over 10m from a standing start he takes as long as anyone to get up and doing

I don't think he's been near the bottom for any of it in his group.

Wasn't his best footy played as a rotating half forward anyway?

Yeah but IMO he is always being tackled and he slows down the flow of possession because he can't break a tackle now
He can't play as a half forward now because we have Kent and Petracca who put on far better pressure
I see him now as a Daniel Cross with better kicking skills

Yeah it's pretty common for AFL clubs to pull the pin on the Reserves. I remember years ago in the QAFL, Daniel Merrett kicked like 5 goals in the first half of a final the Lions had no intention of winning, and then spent the entire second half rotating between the backline and the bench.

We're in a much different position than the last few years however. Last year, I've no doubt the emphasis would be on getting everyone back at the same time for Preseason ... this year, winning games, finals, and possibly even a premiership could potentially be given priority
