yeah time for a run on ball for Laurie, try get him into the game.Bailey Laurie another who has been quiet, he often has some time on ball but I don’t recall any today. He’s mostly been on the forward flank so far.
JVR kicks his third. Strong mark, dribble from the pocket and now one with the ball going long and running onto it in the goal square. Now in the ruck and gets the clearance.
Hard to say what his general play kicking has been like. Four kicks for three goals. I think he’s more an impact player than one who has high end foot skills. How's JVRs kicking skills in general play? Rather than pin our hopes on him as a key forward saviour could he take up Melks role next year as a sorta defensive 2nd tall who finds space?
So then more like your Zurhaar type? Or not as powerful?Hard to say what his general play kicking has been like. Four kicks for three goals. I think he’s more an impact player than one who has high end foot skills.
He’s been getting handpasses out to mids when rucking.
I reckon his point of difference is he relentlessly and aggressively competes for the ball. When he gets into the seniors I think it would not play to his strengths to have him used in a defensive forward role.
Taller than Zurhaar, more agile too. JVR wouldn’t be as strong through the legs as Zurhaar (yet). So then more like your Zurhaar type? Or not as powerful?
There's just not many not overly tall forwards who don't add alot in other areas who are successful in the league.
he'll take Melks spot next year imo but will be an outright target. he can play a similar role to TMac. he actually reminds me a bit of Jack Reiwoldt or Hogan at times. How's JVRs kicking skills in general play? Riewoldt has beautiful skills on both sides but I wouldn't say him and Hogan were anything alike.he'll take Melks spot next year imo but will be an outright target. he can play a similar role to TMac. he actually reminds me a bit of Jack Reiwoldt or Hogan at times.
i just see similar things in his game at times that remind me of those guys, i'm not saying he is a clone of either.Riewoldt has beautiful skills on both sides but I wouldn't say him and Hogan were anything alike.
