I have put together what I think your teams might look like. I see a lot of people have Amon. Ive kept him in the Maggies

Amon will be in the side before Drew. You have Wines, SPP, Rocky, Drew who are all inside. Replace Drew with Amon and you're closer to a likely side. Drews chance to play is to pass Rocky or SPP this preseason.

Watts at the wrong end of the ground, Boak in the forward line, Amon our best winger not in the team, Drew, Rocky, Wines, SPP all in the one team and Lienert ahead of a host of better players.

So just a few mistakes there I'd think.

Amon is almost one of the first picked these days.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Marshall tried in defence this year especially if we play two rucks . He has the height , depends if he can read the play well I guess . Turn him into a swing man maybe
They were already doing it in the SANFL finals.

PORT ADELAIDE
B:
Darcy Byrne-Jones, Tom Clurey, Ryan Burton
HB: Hamish Hartlett, Tom Jonas, Riley Bonner
C: Karl Amon, Ollie Wines, Xavier Duursma
HF: Dan Houston, Todd Marshall, Connor Rozee
F: Robbie Gray, Charlie Dixon, Brad Ebert
FOLL: Scott Lycett, Travis Boak, Tom Rockliff

I/C: Sam Powell-Pepper, Justin Westhoff, Zak Butters, Jack Watts

EMER: Jarrod Leinert, Miles Bergman, Kane Farrell, Jackson Mead

We say: We’ve been conservative with the Round 1 debuts, but Port showed last season that it was happy to unleash its young guns early in the year. Miles Bergman and Jackson Mead, who’ve both quickly adjusted to life as senior footballers, appear the 2019 draftees most likely to push for Round 1, but they’ve been names as emergencies for now. Willem Drew probably would’ve been in the 22 if it wasn’t for off-season surgery, with the Power likely to be conservative with the young bull on-baller. Todd Marshall gets a gig as Justin Westhoff is more likely to be used as a defender in 2020. We’re also backing Jack Watts, who’s done a mountain of running over the summer, to push for Round 1 selection as well.

Ladhams and Motlop are the notable omissions there.

Interesting that Mead and Bergman are tracking well. There is a spot for one of them at least.

I don’t think that’s far off how the side will look. However if we want to climb the ladder this year I think we need to be prepared to make hard decisions and keep “name” players out. We’ve seen our Midfield sufers from to many slower players with poor disposal, and our forward line can suffer from having those players shoe horned up forward.

Like it. Although Motlop to earn spot ahead of Farrell. Giving Motlop full year in forward line is only position we will generate some value. Have some quiet games as all small forwards do but will have some game breakers too.....you hope.

RossFC - pretty much agree with you.

I would however like to see Ladhams and Marshall swapped in your side and I'm concerned with the lack of height down back.
Watts CHB, Clurey FB and Jonas BP could be the alternative.

I've had a few months away from the forums, but now looking forward to the trial games.
Bring it on.

We'll need a tall KPD next trade period, it's a big weakness that I can't see Hoff and Watts fixing.

Ok so I tried to improves my best 22. Hopefully some people will agree with me

Wines our Injured and three spots left open. I’d expect one of Ebert and Rockliff to take one of those spots.

Possibly Ladhams if we want to go down the path of two rucks but I’m not sure that’s the right move for us. Maybe Georgiades can take the second spot as the third tall.

One of Bonner and Farrell maybe for the last spot, would like to see William and Bergman push for that spot throughout the year, but sure they’ll be ready come Rd 1. Will be good to watch in the preseason games and U23 trial with the crows.

Missing Bonner (22),

Also if Frampton (23) counts then Ryan Burton (23) should.

I'll be extremely disappointed if that Port side doesn't win by at least 5 goals.

Fogarty, Doedee and Poholke are the only standouts for me in that crows side, while Drew, Duursma, Garner, Hayes, Houston, Marshall, Mead, SPP and Rozee are all at the equivalent level or above.

I know I have my normal Port bias and better knowledge of our players, but that's how I see it.

I think that Jones and McHenry are very decent players who will both cause oppo teams some headaches this season, both very talented.

I think you're overselling Poholke and underselling Doedee here. Poholke is a spud. Doedee on the other hand would probably be our best defender if he was on our list, he's well ahead of names like Drew, Mead, Hayes or Garner.
