they would of offered the two first rounders this year at the death and for a guy who has the option to walk in 12 months you gotta take that
asking for guys like heeney or blakey is beyond ridiculous for a guy who cant even get on the park

when they actually didn’t.Asking for heeney was purely a ploy to ensure if he does want to go in 12 months, we’ll be in a stronger salary cap & draft position to match Sydney, force a trade & find a replacement through the draft/FA, which is something we were no chance of achieving this year.
All of the above is assuming he doesn’t get fit & have a good year & choose to stay with us long term.
It’s a win/win either way.

Essendon and Saints have the same problem. They can smack teams on Marvel where bruise free footy is played but as soon they need to play contested footy on away grounds or in finals they get spanked.
Bit like how the dogs got spanked on an away ground in the elim final.

Our biggest problem has been injuries.
We gave our strength & conditioning bloke the arse (actually he resigned, but he got in first) and got a new one in. Reports from the gym are that it was pretty casual in there most days with blokes lining up to play their fav tracks on the Spotify playlist rather than really work on improving strength & power. Plenty of players lifting with poor form etc.
Hopefully the new bloke sets a tone for how players are expected to prepare themselves for a season & gameday during the season.
For basically nothing. He’ll slot in on a wing nicely. I love how people think that if we get one brute in the middle all our probs will be solved.
It’s how we play that’s the problem. Hopefully Rutten/Cara start ironing out bad habits next year.
