There is no such thing as an unattractive Swedish backpacker.

"Mmmm...Swedish backpackers"

Yet again I have a recipe that says 'add bay leaves'. Then again, after cooking, remove bay leaves. I can never taste/ smell any difference in anything they are used in. Why add them in the first place? Is my sense of taste so impaired?

But what is the actual practical effect of that?

If anything remakes reignite interest in the original, and can result in the original getting, for example, a shiny new Blu-ray release that might not otherwise have happened.

It's also a time thing. I don't get the Spiderman thing. 20 years is a good gap between re-makes, and all I ask is that they leave Dirty Harry alone

It's a Glenelg thing

Yes.

Cinnamon sticks are the same.

I used both in a curry I just made...

I'm making curry chicken for my weekly meal prep this week.

FYI if you want to give it a go:

4 servings:
  • 500g chicken breast
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced red onions
  • 3/4 cup lite coconut milk (canned)
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp garlic paste (or minced garlic)
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger

SPICES:
  • 1 tbsp curry powder
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tbsp cayenne
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into small pieces. Spray a nonstick skillet with coconut oil and set on medium-high heat. Cook the chicken breasts. Do not worry about seasoning—that part comes later.
  2. Spray another nonstick skillet with coconut oil and place on medium heat. Add the red onion, garlic, and ginger. Saute until the red onion is nearly translucent.
  3. Add chicken broth, coconut milk, and seasonings to the skillet. Stir with a spatula. Let the sauce simmer, and then cover. Reduce to low heat to allow the sauce to cook and thicken.
  4. Add cooked, chopped chicken breasts into the coconut curry mixture. Stir with a spatula and cook covered for about 5 minutes on low heat. Season with sea salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Remove the skillet from the heat and allow the sauce to thicken.

Yeah I got about 8 serves from my cook up... Bit different as I've learnt from my Indian mate a pretty authentic recipe... Amazeballs and hot as ****.

lol Schulzenfest got banned. Anyone know why?

Yep. Funnily enough you didn't have to be a mod to figure it out.

He obviously posted something unkind about Cyril on the AFL board - don't know what specifically but he copped an almighty whack for it.

Real shame - he's good value to butt heads with.

Does "low sodium chicken broth" just mean chicken stock?

Must have been a brain fade. I mean, I reckon I would be having a brain fade for just posting on that board...they don't appreciate my humour on there

He is definitely one of the better posters on bigfooty. Hopefully he comes back soon :O

Odds on it was Cyril himself who reported his post.

There was the whole thing about Sony having to keep making Spidey movies or the rights would revert back to Marvel.

Even the disappointing Amazing Spidey 2 grossed $709m at the worldwide box office and f@%k knows what else in merch and ancillaries and whatnot.

Can't keep Spidey on the bench!

Yeah, but you just finish the third...and then they start again. Well that's how it felt to me
