This coming from an Essendon supporterHow many final wins did he have before 2017?
Nice bloke and has done great off field, but on field he seemingly hasn't been up to it, has had a pretty good 6 year run to get us in the mix and we look like missing yet again.
Maybe they'll have to have a bye every week or they'll add another team not long afterwardsI cant see AFL running with a bye round for a team each week myself is all. Something will give

Hardwick made finals from his 3rd to 5th year as a coach though. Gold Coast didn’t make finals at all in the 6 years Dew was coach.Hardwick took 6 years to do anything at Richmond and it was less him and more that Dusty just came of age.
Hardwicks not going to do anything at Gold Coast so if that's the grand plan, this thread will just be bumped in 3-4 years rofl.
Six years, fair enough given the following record.
2018 4-18 17th
2019 3-19 18th
2020 5-1-11 14th
2021 7-15 16th
2022 10-12 12th
2023 7-9* 13th*

Money $$$$$$why the f would hardwick want to go there ?
if he was burned out at Richmond, how is he supposed to take on the challenge of turning that s**t hole around?
There was a big assistant turnover last year with the likes of Steven King coming in from the Dogs.Who are his assistants? They need to carry some of that burden.
I agree, Dew has steadied the ship off-field and imo the suns are now a respected opponent even though they have ups and downs like any middle of the ladder team. They were a certified joke prior to Dew taking over.
Not to mention the Bowes/Pick 7 thing. And over paying for hacks like Ellis and Atkins.
Not with how well their academy is going in producing talent.Any chance this is the beginning of the club being wound up? In reality someone has to go to make way for Tasmania and out of the 2 of GWS and Gold Coast, Gold Coast makes the most sense in the long term
The assistants will only be there till the end of season the new coach will have his own peopleWho are his assistants? They need to carry some of that burden.

Think Hardwick would be a solid appointment for Gold Coast. He’s a decent matchday coach and could take them to finals as early as next year with the list they currently have.

Literally the whole point of the club.
Yes, the biggest and richest club in thr country to fold and move to Tassie.West Coast makes more sense, at least GC are competitive
Agreed, sick to death of it, especially when this guy's own club is not even state league standardI'm always gonna call out other supporters suggesting that other teams (never their own club of coursw) should fold. It's shithouse
Yes but he's had 6 years and their ladder position shows no sign of improving.yeah. Kinda sucks for Dew
they’re going to load up on genuinely elite kids this year and the next coach is going to look like a genius
Tiger too smart.Caroline Wilson 1 rest of AFL journos 0

How long do you give someone?
In 2019 they traded their 2020 priority pick (11), a pick that AFL handed as compensation to help with the rebuild + pick 64 for Geelong's pick 27.Not to mention the Bowes/Pick 7 thing. And over paying for hacks like Ellis and Atkins.
