Stunning news has broken this evening in the SFA, with reports emerging that one of the league’s genuine superstars has succumbed to injury and looks set to miss a significant portion of what remains of Season 28, and possibly, even a finals campaign.

The number one news breaker in the business, Jon Qalph tweeted a cryptic report alluding to a big name qooty player set for surgery this evening, but was yet to name the player, or club involved at this stage.

9Id7TYU.png

The news could have massive implications across the competition, with major betting agencies Qrownbet and TiFbet among others, suspending all betting on the Mobbs Medal late on Sunday as they await updates on this developing story.

More to come.

Our thoughts are with WaynesWorld19 at this time. We expect the recovery time for a broken period key to be at least 12 weeks. The keyboard has been sent to a specialist in Germany for expert treatment.

How did you know? I only just got a call from the clinic to come in about results on the MRI for my knee...

Are you getting the snip, Tiffy?

I'm sure the club in question will continue to support their player no matter the cost to their immediate success.

I'm sure any statements made by a captain about the continued support their team would provide such an injured player, regardless of the cost would be echoed by any and all players of a club.

Came in here expecting another thread about the Bombers.

SFA SHOCK - UPDATE

In shocking news, premier ruckman and Mobbs favourite Test Tickle has broken down on Sunday and has had immediate surgery overnight.

The development sent shockwaves through the competition last night, as Mobbs Medal betting was suspended, as were several other markets including ‘The Edge’, SFA Premiers and all games involving the Las Vegas Bears as the SFA world awaits further updates on the biggest qooty story of the season in S28.

Unconfirmed reports suggest the big man has been battling injury for weeks, and despite the great clubman's desire to continue to play on through the immense physical toll, the champion now thinks his club could have intervened before now and consulted him for his welfare, the club had a responsibility for his well-being, and it might have been able to avoid him breaking down in the end.

This reporter is led to believe club medicos have been administering multiple painkilling injections a game to get the big man up on match day, however club sources have confirmed under promise of confidentiality that the Bears star collapsed in a heap shortly before half time in their match on Sunday against the Dragons. Those same sources suggest the club doctor overruled concern for the player’s welfare, administering further painkillers and sending the Mobbs favourite back out after spending nearly 40 mins unconscious in the rooms. Captain @JoshWoddenSpoon reportedly only became aware of the dire situation late tonight after attending a post game function for sponsors that teammate Testy was expected to attend.

At this time both the Las Vegas Bears and captain JoshWoodenSpoon have been unavailable for comment.

In a late development, TiFnews reporter Jon Qalph caught up with Test Tickle on his way into the surgery after attempting to enter discreetly through the backdoor of the Sweet Medical Centre in downtown Sweet, more to come on this as we await his report, stay tuned for more news as this spectacular story unfolds.

LOL disregard, I thought you were calling him a Premiership Ruckman - that would have been lies.

Testy Test Tickle out for 2
by Jon Qalph

I caught up with Bears ruck champion Test Tickle on his way into surgery last night here at the Sweet Medical Centre after managing to catch him on his way through the back door and approached him for comment.

The young ruckman was clearly distressed and gave an insight into the injuries he’s been carrying the past few weeks.

“In for surgery tonight after a shocking game today. I've got heaps of injuries right now including ACLs and PCLs you name it, I've got it. Currently the #1 ruck in the comp by a mile and yes I'm standing down for a week or two to have surgery, it's not fair to my team to go on in my condition.” said the Bears talisman.

I caught up with him post surgery after he agreed to give an exclusive interview to TiFnews on what is fast becoming the SFA story of the season.

Qalphy:
So Test Tickle, thank you for speaking exclusively with TiFnews, can you tell me a little bit about the injuries you’ve been carrying? I understand you broke down yesterday having carried them for several weeks.

Test Tickle:
The last 3 or four rounds have been the worst, injuries like both hammys have torn, one of them off the bone, a broken collarbone, ACL and PCL in both knees and Achilles issues last week, one of them snapped.

But I've soldiered on with tape and ice, but eventually I collapsed, I just couldn't go on any longer.

I knew it was time when Dr Mantis Taboggan had more hit outs than me and he plays on the bloody wing lololol

Qalphy:

So I assume the qoach, medicos, captain JoshWoodenSpoon knew about them?

Test Tickle:
They all knew I was playing injured but getting results on the board seemed to be the main focus, i think the club needs to work on the player welfare aspect of things as not much regard was given to my health.

I'm a stubborn bastard anyway, so even if they did approach me I probably would have to them to piss off.

Qalphy:

Was he aware of the severity of your injuries? Surely it must have been known among the senior players?

Test Tickle:
Everyone knows I've been injured but nobody really gave a fu**, they just wanted the best player in the SFA out on the park.

Qalphy:

It must have been a challenge playing through injury and still competing so strongly, especially in the ruck with all the big boys?

Test Tickle:
I'd really like to take this opportunity to thank our medical team for taping me up each week. I'd get in on a Saturday morning for taping and I'd be right to go by game time Sunday. AuntyBlindEye and has been a great support for me with the sympathy he has shown along the way, he is a brilliant young talent that one.
It was tough but Tigerturbulance always told me to play in the Ruck that you had to be tough. I took it on board and did my best for the team.

Qalphy:

Surgery is a pretty drastic measure, betting agencies have suspended their Mobbs medal markets overnight as a result, you were the clear favourite heading into Round 10, do you still think you can get back out on the park in S28 and challenge?

Test Tickle:
I'm hopeful to get back pretty soon depending on my recovery of course but i also have full confidence in AuntyBlindEye to fill this void. I'll also be risking losing my massive advantage in "The Edge" I have right now and sliding down the ladder, but individual accolades dont really mean that much to me, I'm a team first man.

I also think this could ruin my chance of a Mobbs medal and any other medals I am leading right now, but more importantly is that the Bears go on in my absence and make a charge at the top 8.

Qalphy:

Your club have declined to comment so far, this is the first we are hearing about it all, your teammates would obviously be disappointed to hear they’ll be without you for the foreseeable future, how do you see your Bears teammates responding?

Test Tickle:
How do the Bears go without a Test Tickle for a few weeks, that is the question right now. I think they'll be fine without me xenxen has stepped up another level this season and Its Manbearpig is doing all he can in front of the big sticks.

We do have a young rookie putting his hand up to replace me, AuntyBlindEye, who has also had some one on one with Tigerturbulance.

Haven't really had any sympathy from the rest of my team mates, or the LG for that matter, except AuntyBlindEye and xenxen , they have been a great support for me.

Qalphy:

Gee, that really makes you think.

The overriding feeling must be relief now the surgery’s complete and your mind must be shifting to recovery now, are you bullish about your prospects from here?

Test Tickle:
Absolutely.
Surgery has revealed that some injuries were worse than first thought, but I'm still hopeful to get back before the final series.
Moral is a bit low at the moment, but hopefully we can pick up as a team and march forward in a big way.

Qalphy:

Thanks Testy, all of us at TiFnews and indeed all the fans of the SFA I'm sure wish you a speedy recovery.

So a very forthcoming, and at times testy Test Tickle clearly confident about getting back in S28 and doing some further damage as he strives for his first Mobbs Medal and the pinnacle for ruckmen, The Edge. Expecting the Sweet FA will be abuzz with the news the competition’s premier big man may be missing come finals time, will be interesting to see this one unfold in the coming weeks.

Ah, so that explains why Test Tickle dropped from being the #1 ranked player in Baz Stats this week (yes, I've caught up finally)
